The thing is china never had any money.

In china their currency is called the RNB, it is basically monopoly money that never leaves china, the government literally prints it when they want a project done and uses RNB instead of real money.

Let's say there is a city that needs to be built and it costs like 200 billion, they will print RNB and have it built even though there is no real money being used.
This is also why everything in china is so cheap, from food to haircuts. the government sets the price for everything. when mainland chinese go to HK they have to convert their monopoly money into HKD which is why everything is more expensive in the real currency.

The world doesn't use monopoly money so the chinese must use the HKDollar which is tied 1-1 to the US dollar.
The reason the Chinese government wants to take over Hong Kong is because they wish to erase the HKD and Replace it with their monopoly money the RNB.

In 2-3 years the Communist government of china will collapse due to their idiocy and their failed economy that they tried to swindle the world with.
