Is controversy the best way to sell a product?

I'm curious to know what the "correct" way to depict trans people is. Several games tried to do it tastefully in the past few years and every time there's a massive backlash. Like if you say anything about suicide or how they all start out as broken people (like in the Catherine reboot) everyone goes up in arms, what is the ideal unicorn trans person that these people want?

Wishing trannies would go away is literally not controversial.

It depends on your product. That said most corporations these days are bowing to social pressure applied by the outrage machine when the better thing to do is to pretend it's not happening.

Don't depict them at all. Trying to appeal to that mentally ill crowd is a suicide wish.
Even better, depict trannies as the ugly and mentally ill freaks that they are.
