It's a whole process and won't happen all of a sudden. Old and useless projects will continue to get pumped and dumped to lower lows, some may just stay flat and slowly bleed while new better tech projects will slowly but surely overtake them in ranking over the course of a year or two.

End result is that by the end of next market blow off phase, the rankings will look very different than they do now

OP, just go look at a market cap ranking list from say 2013 or 2014. it's totally unrecognizable from today. even by the end of the 2020/21 bullrun, most coins in the top 10 won't be there anymore.

Projects don't need to die necessarily. We just need better infrastructure to overshadow them.

Also I think we as a society need to have a serious discussion on the normalization of caffeine addiction.
