I saw this article posted by Forbes that Google had a breakthrough with a new super computer which may put bitcoin at risk. I thought I'd drop it here but don't know if this is the right place for it.

No future for helicopters, worthless tech. The world of aviation has abruptly come to an end. Rumor has it that some country managed to build a rocket ship.

>> No.15787698

the article itself raises some important points

>It would appear Google is still some way away from building a quantum computer that could be a threat to bitcoin or other encryption.
and

>"Cryptocurrencies can be updated with quantum resistant tech," said Charles Hayter, chief executive of bitcoin and cryptocurrency data website, CryptoCompare. "This is just a continuation of the age old arms race between crackers and enciphers."
not only that, but when we have computers that are taking us into the next step in the technological age and computers are dramatically that much better the world might change so much that our concept of money might change too. im not sure what the future will look like but i have a feeling that the quality of life of the very rich and the very poor will look similar. for example, people today probably live better than kings and queens did 200 years ago minus getting sucked off whenever you want and being above the law (we still have people that get to do that today but it isnt the average person). we can eat as much food than the richest people used to because a lot of us people in the west have constant access to food. we have air conditioner which those people would have killed for. we have a lot of shit that produces instant comfort. whos to say that trend wont continue and whos to say we'll even need to work when robots are doing everything for us from farming our food to building our houses.

having super computers is basically part of the next step of humans developing tools to master the planet.

They barely reached 72 qubit to do a single thing.
