Thinking about getting my BS in CS. I only have to pay for two years because of the program I did in high school. How bad is that decision?

>> No.15772848

it's a good decision. stop being retarded.

If you're decent at CS (it's very competitive) and are sociable enough to get a job (not a high bar in CS) you'll make back what you spent in your first year. Unless you're good at this shit, don't expect a software dev job right away.

Do it. And if you feel like two years isn’t enough, go to a coding boot camp, one with reputable employment data such as hack reactor etc

Yes, do it. If you're getting 2 years for free that's even more of a no-brainer. 7 years ago I got a bachelor's in CS, now I'm making 145k and hardly do shit. Have around 180k invested in crypto, stocks, bonds. If the crypto market moons I retire.

As a poor fag would it be viable to learn from free courses? Are there any free resources that are recognised or would I need to actually go to uni and get rpl?

Chances are if you are here asking these kinds of questions instead of learning on your own then you probably aren't an autodidact.

Do I need to rephrase that? I am using free resources to learn cs, can I get a job being self taught or do certifications matter?
