Not sure 100% what her story was, but a lady I worked with went on a vacation that turned into a short term paid disability to an extended disability finally until she was terminated. In the corporate world, even in the US, it’s actually hard to fire someone if the right circumstances are in place, like if it involves health and isn’t during a (((restructuring))). In my opinion she played them like a fiddle and last I heard she’s doing good.
