>> No.15760811

They dont have the votes yet so its anyone game. Dems have the seats but doesnt mean they will all agree. Many democrats cant afford to vote impeaching trump else they lose their seat next election. Most sensationalized articles out now claim dems are for impeachment, but when you read close you see they are for impeachment INQUIRY. Also my bet is on impeachment this year. The language is confusing but important. Your quote is about conviction based on the articles, but the “drafting” of the articles does not require impeachment.

>Articles of impeachment are the set of charges drafted against a public official to initiate the impeachment process. The articles of impeachment do not result in the removal of the official, but instead require the enacting body to take further action, such as bringing the articles to a vote before the full body.

I’m guessing “passing” the articles means having the majority vote in the house, which Dems currently control.

To the other poster, I also see no reason to assume they want to rush this through. The longer they draw this out, the more thrown off trump is, the more hamstrung they may HOPE he is during the 2020 campaign.

I don’t know, I’m not going to waste my money voting on something like this, especially since the language is so confusing.

It's largely a fishing expedition. I'm sure there are things that they could find on Trump, but they won't use certain things if it slaughters a sacred cow like Israel or Saudi Arabia.

Trump needs to do something outrageous akin to the Saturday Night Massacre in order for things to have legs.

Also, a recession. Nixon's impeachment coincided with a recession and massive inflationary pressures.

>"One of NIO's most pressing problems is the weak market for higher-end electric vehicles in China. The firm's deliveries peaked at 7,980 in the fourth quarter of last year, shortly before China's central government slashed subsidies for "New Energy Vehicles" (EVs and plug-in hybrids) in half. Since then NIO's deliveries have declined twice, first to 3,989 in the first quarter of this year and then to just 3,553 in Q2. "
>I wonder if Beijing will pump cash into Nio at minimum to save face?
And the article say they expect further cut in subsidies in the future.
I don't think Beijing will pump cash into Nio given that it's a rather small company, and even if they do so, given what happened recently to the HNA group and Anbang and others, they will nationalize it in the process.

The bettors lean liberal, too, so you can usually make pretty good money just front running their idiotic anti-Trump tendencies like when they all herd bet on Trump's poll numbers being abysmal, when really they are okay...buy up cheap shares when no one is looking and profit a few days later.

Fairly ez money. Just dont get trapped in long holds or too speculative of bets. Nice way to make a profit off unexpected shit though, like if Scotus Judge Breyer dies tomorrow before RBG, well, hope you had those 6 cent Breyers in the What Scotus Member Will Be Next to Leave the Court? Market....

This. Last week had i gone all in on an options trade with 30k, I'd have walked away with my intial 30k + about 6k profit pre tax had i sold the option at a certain point. However that option expires in about a month's time. Had I gone in with 30k AND the stock went the other way AND i refused to sell until expiration, then id have lost 30k. If I can pull off a move like that FIVE (5) TIMES i could literally just not wagecuck for an entire year.

Anons, convince me NOT to do this. Its a stock I believe will move in certain ways and should i be correct i could pull this off

ROKU should head to 96 before recovering if you ask me. Recovering now would make the stock meh in my eyes.

On the topic of news manipulation:
>Peter Navarro: Reports that US would restrict Chinese companies were ‘fake news’
They really need to do some research into media manipulation of stock prices. Algos holds major power over the stock market and ONE article from a "trustworthy" news network that the algos follows WILL no matter what increase or decrease the price, so all these "leaks" coming from the media with "unnamed sources" should be investigated and charged with crimes if it turns out to be fake. Does anyone know how certificates of deposit work? Some bank of America guy called me about them. So you dump your money into a CD for a set amount of time and get a paltry ~2% return after years. But they apparently have 3 and even 1 month CDs. Do you get your interest at the end of every month? Why wouldn't I just do 12 1 month CDs in a year and get over 12k from a starting amount of 100k instead of getting like 2k from a 1 year CD? I must be missing something or surely everyone would do this.

they're essentially savings accounts with (hopefully) higher yields BUT you lose liquidity since you commit to keeping money in the account until the term is up.
unless you're getting 3% or more, dont bother they barely cover inflation. also the short term rates are likely given as yearly, verify with the terms and do the math for the true interest rate.

If you don't understand why Gold is going down, how could you understand why it was appreciating?

Any appreciation in Gold is a fake out unless we get some hard CPI numbers confirming 2%+ inflation in the USA. Once that happens the jig is up for the Fed because they can no longer ease without stoking more inflation, yet they can't raise rates without causing a recession.

The last time they were in that type of position it was the 1970s.

Advice for the dude weed? We're looking at near parabolic drop here. Don't hold anything unless you're trying to trade the oversold bounce. There is a possibility of further drop in to extended flat line.

The reason why Gold appreciated this year is because of the dovish turn by the Fed and the prospect of negative interest rates in Europe.

Central banks around the world seem to be stockpiling the stuff in anticipation of something.

So yeah, if you just went into it for a short term buck, get out.

But if the trade war heats up and the fed goes full dove, it'll go higher again.

I don't really feel comfortable answering your question. You shouldn't be investing if you have to ask someone on an anonymous message board what to do with your investment.

The time tested boomer method of holding an entire index is historically the best way to save, but what the boomers don't tell you is that the S&P 500 has periods of time even during massive bull markets where the market goes down 10%, 15% or even 20%.

The 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s is full of such periods, despite the stock market generally going up.

Stock valuations are high historically right now too. The only point in history where stocks have been this expensive was in 1999/2000.
