Here is the deal. i'm 25, dropped out of college twice.
First time at 19, again a couple years ago.
i was trying to do computer science. Crypto took over my life and i droped out and invested around 30K into link in 217, got a 70k link stack still.

But I feel like i should sill try become a software developer. I know i cant do college now. no point going back. I feel like im ready this time.... but I cant trust myself.
Some anons said you dont need college degree to be a software developer. you can self teach and get certifications. How true is this?

In your case, not true, because you sound and write like a legit retard. McDonalds might be a good fit for you though.

I've heard that more and more places are dropping degree requirements but I think they still expect at least some bootcamp training but I may be wrong about that last part. You should try asking /g/.

My plan was something like this:

Do an online course such as Odin project, or a very good Udemy course for a year.
build a portfolio of projects in this time.
Try learn just a little CS project development theory. I already know some, like AGILE, waterfall, and the bullshit you learn in early CS.
Learn a useful language
Gradually take some individual certifications over time

Start applying for jobs

If no luck, finish off with a bootcamp to polish everything up.
