If you ain't got a lot of Green (fuck don't feel bad I'm in the same boat) tossing money into a Fund or ETF is the smart play. Pay no mind to the day to day grind of the market unless there's a big shat. Then strike while things are down, more shares per dollar spent. But in general just toss money into your Fund/ETF as you would any other "expense" Do that for 30 years. You'll wind up with a nice fat wad of Green. Hell if you start at 20 you've got 40 years to let it grow nice and fat. The only thing is that the older you are, the more you need to spend in order to make anything worth a damn later. I'd say 40 is the cutoff point. At 40 you have only 25 years to let it grow. Any older and your seed money requirements go up big time. Which you may not have due to other shit sucking your green wad each month.

Just looked at the thread. The way the notes from the call go, it sounds like Z wants to appease trump, and brought up military purchases, which is something trump continually tries to get. The point of the impeachment proceedings isn't to impeach Trump for whatever he said to Ukraine. That's just the casus belli, the reason for starting the proceedings.

The real goal is to start another formal investigation, this time controlled more closely by the Senate instead. They want to investigate Trump and his family as much as the law allows, not just limited to Ukraine.
They'll be very happy if they can find something impeachable, but they'll be satisfied if the investigation turns up enough ammo to win 2020. If they launch another investigation and nothing serious turns up, then it looks really bad and they probably lose 2020.

Either way, it looks bad for America and weakens our international bargaining positions. It isn't the end of the world, because the EU and Chinese economies are in a weakening position. But it seems like all the US politicians are spending all their time pointing out how corrupt the other side is, meanwhile no one is actually changing the rules to limit the powers of the federal government in a way that would make such corruption impossible.
