One day he got really drunk, beat her and when I stepped in he turned on me worse than ever before. I literally ran like a fucking scared animal, I made it several miles before I collapsed and passed out. I just ran and ran and ran, I didn’t even look back to see if he was still chasing me.
The next day I found out that my step-dad stopped chasing me early on and had went to the liquor store (fucking alchoholic). Apparently he started talking shit there to some meth heads and got stabbed to death. One of them even pissed on him while he was dying lol. Cops were like w/e a wifebeater gets killed by meth heads who cares.

Yea it was cinematic as fuck, the store’s clerk was always nice to me so he gave me the details and a few beers on the house that day.
It wasn’t my mom’s fault, he was deceptively sweet when courting her, it wasn’t until he slipped a ring on her finger that he became a monster. He wasn’t just an alcoholic drunk, he had a personality disorder, probably a psychopath, and was smart enough to hide it, but not smart enough to control himself. The one thing that gave him away was how he spoke when drinking at dinner, he would use very logical cold aggressive phrasing. I sometimes wonder if my mom and I somehow turned him into that animal since he had a clean criminal record before meeting us, but I have to tell myself it was in him all along, he told some weird stories about his teenage years that were very violent.
Now my mom and I live on the other side of the country and life is pretty good. I want her to find someone nice but she has a hard time trusting men now, I feel so bad for her. Her life would have been beautiful if my biological dad didn’t die, I miss him a lot but he also made me the man I am now, I even look like him (which makes looking in the mirror very painful). The one good thing my abusive step dad taught me was to lift, ironically.

Thanks, I’m getting there now, wish I did this when I was a teen, I didn’t figure out the diet part until after he got stabbed. He only taught me lifting lol, he somehow managed to be fucking huge but I was so focused on what he drank (so I could gtfo of there when I needed) that I never paid attention to what he ate.

For the purpose of getting strong, diet isn't that complicated. Get enough protein (~1g if protein per pound of bodyweight) and eat at a caloric surplus (200-300 surplus cals per day will do). For the rest, eat whatever you want.

In the gym, train for strength. Bicep curls in the squat rack will not do, but any powerlifting routine will, so just pick one and start. As long as the squat, benchpress, and deadlift are the cornerstones of your workout, you're on the right track.

For boxing, that's great. It won't be long that you'll have the skill to defend yourself, if you aren't there already. Do the rest and you'll soon have the strength and size as well. Even if you're a skinny 140lbs manlet, you can get close to the 200lbs range in 1-2 years if you're disciplined, and at that point, you're no longer an easy target.
