You'll never make it that way,and if you do get a big pull you'll lose it trying again, going for 5-10% gain on each side is good man.

The trick to options is spending the LEAST amount for the best Greek,Delta ECT, Then having that makes net spread against maybe two or three other hedges that may gains or lose in the mean time that you can roll over or switch up if something funky happens

I try to sell around -30% but I go long too so I have time to recover. Vol crash is a bitch at times or if the stock doesn't move but the markets been so liquid lately that almost any call or put three weeks out will move decently...

Trump really has us on easy mode rn.

He was mostly used as a raw material for balloons manufacturers (read= stored, sold, and released to the atmosphere to boil off into space. They and the media syndicates made tons of money on licensing images printed on the balloons. Mind boggling numbers of these balloons ended up drifting thousands of miles to litter then landscape across the Earth. Countless whales and other wildlife died with mylar jamming their blowholes. Countless children were made obese and diabetic by perfectly retarded birth date ceremonies involving mass quantities of sugar.

"He" was concentrated by geological forces over millions of years. There were no "storage costs"- it existed in subterranean natural vaults. It was perfectly preserved. They (short sighted lame brained Republicans) allowed it to be sucked out of boreholes for pennies on the fucking dollar in the 1960s in a legislative crime wave that was a massive corporate welfare takeover and abject theft of public resources, everything from protective agricultural field buffer strips (now resulting in historical flooding events across thousands of sq. Miles of area in the Mississippi River drainage, thousands of square miles of dead zones from chemical runoff...) to military contracts (to drop chemical and conventional weapons in a losing war in SE Asia, the effects of which are still felt today in places like Cambodia where kid's faces are getting blown up by unexploded munitions that still cover vast areas).

They're doing the same shit today, as they've always done, with lobbyists heading the scientific and regulatory agencies to deplete what is left of forests, surface water, minerals, fisheries, the composition of the atmosphere, and the prospects for the future of life on Earth.

Didn’t pay attention, wasn’t in the market back then. Probably it was some push against tobacco as a whole not specifically vape and stuff. As much as I love my pharma stonks, and I REALLY want a dip in JNJ so I can get back in, he actually got the affordable healthcare act. It’s shameful that we don’t do a better job with healthcare. I believe gdp would improve if our wageslaves weren’t waiting til they needed to go to the ER before getting their shit checked out.

I think we could find a problem to the whole “I don’t want to pay for fat people’s insulin” problem too. They’ve been experimenting with incentivizing good behavior in South Africa (don’t laugh) with good results.

Maybe If we gave people better health care benefits to go to a fat people facility and ride a recumbent stationary bike for an hour a day or something. People who go to the gym regularly would be rewarded, and SLOWLY fat people would get more energy, and get more capable, those small cardio gains would add up, and as long as we avoid injury they might get hooked.

Anyhow, affordable care act wasn’t everything we would have hoped for, but I think it was a step in the right direction. Really glad trump wasn’t able to get it completely destroyed, and I hope we never get a warren type in office who wants smash it and start over.

Also, some more sound trading advice circa 1890:

>"There is nothing new in Wall Street. There can’t be because speculation is as old as the hills. Whatever happens in the stock market today has happened before and will happen again."

>"The desire for constant action irrespective of underlying conditions is responsible for many losses in Wall Street even among professionals."

>"I never lose my temper over the stock market. I never argue the tape. Getting sore at the market doesn’t get you anywhere."

>"They say you can never go poor taking profits. No, you don’t. But neither do you grow rich taking a four-point profit in a bull market.
Where I should have made twenty thousand I made two thousand. That was what my conservatism did for me."

>"Remember that stocks are never too high for you to begin buying or too low to begin selling."

>"A man may see straight and clearly and yet become impatient or doubtful when the market takes its time about doing as he figured it must do. That is why so many men in Wall Street…nevertheless lose money. The market does not beat them. They beat themselves, because though they have brains they cannot sit tight."

>"After spending many years in Wall Street and after making and losing millions of dollars I want to tell you this: It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was the sitting. Got that? My sitting tight!"

>"Prices, like everything else, move along the line of least resistance. They will do whatever comes easiest."

>"The speculator’s chief enemies are always boring from within. It is inseparable from human nature to hope and to fear. In speculation when the market goes against you hope that every day will be the last day—and you lose more than you should had you not listened to hope—the same ally that is so potent a success-bringer to empire builders and pioneers, big and little. And when the market goes your way you become fearful that the next day will take away your profit, and you get out—too soon. Fear keeps you from making as much money as you ought to. The successful trader has to fight these two deep-seated instincts… Instead of hoping he must fear; instead of fearing he must hope."

Always gonna fight, until the day I die

I listen to the one, use who I got to use
Don't ever try and get too close, 'cause I'm a burning fuse
Everyone around me is someone I will play
I'm living out my life and I'm living day to day
Within the perimeters of this world I just don't feel real right
I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife
My soul cannot be tamed, I'm living just to die
I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life
Live from state to state, living day by day
The only paycheck that I know is what I steal today
I like my girls real young, but keep marriage out of mind
I lick 'em and forget 'em because my friends I have no time
Never settle down, living just to fry
But all the things I take in life are things that you can't buy
I sleep all through the day time and I creep all through the night
But I'll live until I die on the outskirts of life
Within the perimeter of this world I just don't feel real right
I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife
My soul cannot be tamed, I'm living just to die
I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life
Don't try talking to me, I just don't have the time
You bore me with your useless life, but you never know about mine
Listen to me closely, do exactly what I say
Give me what I want from you or I'll take it anyway
Liquor, drugs, whores and greyhounds, guns and violence too
In my world I'm living by the laws of who knows who
I have no fear of nothing, each day I set to die
So I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life

Closing statements on SAFE banking act in complete. 15 minute electronic vote in progress. Synopsis of the arguments:
Nays: this is a half measure
Yays: all the arguments about public safety re, state legal companies running cash only businesses without banking protection. States rights etc.

Nay side is peculiar. They're essentially mirroring Cory Booker's argument about not supporting "half measure" legislation, wanting to pass the whole thing and basically federally legalize weed simultaneously with the banking stuff, meanwhile rejecting the banking legislation at this time. I disagree with this as this is highly unusual for the government to tackle major legal changes all in a single bill. Banking act helps the present problem and allows time for judicial reform later. Leaving the companies to fend for themselves until, I dunno, next election or later, is irresponsible.

Vote should be complete momentarily.

I think media and Trump were premature in stoking the panic about the recent wave of lung problems and, in so doing, damaging the reputations of vape companies who have no connection to the health problems reported. It's like the popcorn lung/diacetyl thing all over again but 10x worse (there have been no reported cases of popcorn lung caused by vaping). Mainstream vape brands like Juul have had no illnesses or deaths associated with use of their authentic products so far. For this reason, I am bullish on the future of vaping industry and am long on MO for the time being so long as my stop loss holds. However, public panics like this leave a long lasting stigma of fueled by ignorance it will take some time for the industry to recover lost revenue. More down side is certainly possible.

Best case scenario is black market stops cutting their THC cart liquid with vitamin E, consumers start to avoid that market for fear of poisoning, and the lung issue tapers off. This may happen before the FDA get around to publishing any kind of comprehensive analysis of the problem and likely culprits. Sure. TA only mind you, I dunno the fundamentals going on with mario bros. and sons company. There is resistance at around 42700 yen. This is the spot where most recent leg up ran in to selling pressure. On last dip is held the 20 day simple moving average. If it tests that again and holds, that'll be good for bullish continuation and another attempt to break above resistance. Failure to break that resistance indicates a double top is in and bearish indicator.

Low support since 2015 is fairly consistent at the 200 day SMA. That's about it. I wouldn't buy this right now but I would hold if I was already in with a stop loss at ~37000 yen.

Honestly a good fund will give you damn good results. Even in times of "gloom and doom". The doom times actually work out better cause your able to bag more shares with Drip/ or during your buying period for cheap than you could during the boom times. Just toss it in a target or S&P fund and let it roll for 30 years. If you setup auto transfer then it becomes really automated on your end. There are two groups of people who try to make it in the market
>college students
They have no experience and have never really worked for somthing. They think it's easy and therefore they fail burn dad's 5k$ and then fuck off. You can see this here. Every 3-4 month there is a new batch of tripfags. They come, spout their bullshit strategies and then they're gone.
>mid 40s with midlife crisis and burnout
They don't want to trade. They just want a lotto to end their misery. They fomo as much as someone can possibly fomo and fomo won't get you very far in the market. I had my ups and downs in the last 3 years where I thought that I either make it or that I will never make it, so I know that feel very well. I had a few aha moments lately and now I see what all my mistakes were in the last years. I had no concept and was just doing random shit and of course it backfired. The most dangerous thing about trading is developing a head canon about certain stocks or movements that has no connection to reality.
>this will 1000% moon 10000% then this moons and that moons
You just have to get a feel for the market and the rest is a mind game. You really don't have to learn that much besides some things about share structure($gme is a current example) and some fundamentals. Trading is 70% a fight against your emotions. A anon posted some excerpts from reminiscences of a stock operator in the last thread.
Read that.
Some additional things.
>TA is not a meme
Some TA is a meme but horizontal sup/res as well as demand/supply zones are very real.
Search for Alfonso Moreno on tradingview.
Do TA but keep the current fundamentals in the back of your head as bias for a direction. The trend is your friend. That doesn't mean
>buy high
It simply means
>long the dips in the uptrend and short the highs in the downtrend

>Go zen

What studies?
One study I remember from a few weeks ago was in fucking Brazil and they excluded many (likely profitable) traders because of some weird criteria.
Also that hedge fonds not or only hardly beating the market meme stems from people not knowing what hedge fonds are for. They're not there to make insane returns but to make safe and consistent returns. They also have a shitton of money and can't just buy and sell in microseconds like we can.

Funds are supposed to play safe and therefore have less returns and they're also way less flexible with their billions. We mostly ride the swings here and do not invest. It's totally possible to make it as a trader, especially if you trade options.

Canadian dudes weed up in after hours trading this afternoon. Around about 2-4% depending on the company. I would like to see double that tomorrow from the US companies. None of the multi-state US companies have after hours trading as they are listed on the Canadian small-ish cap shit stock exchange (CSE) for legal reasons. I don't think the house passing safe act is enough for a trend reversal but it certainly should be enough to trigger the overdue oversold bounce on many of these companies. Most are in oversold territory on daily RSI. Some also oversold on weekly.

Yeah, the "Affordable" Care Act hasn't helped me at all. Insurance premiums have gone through the roof over recent years. I pay for insurance for a full family (self, spouse an children). The cheapest ("catastrophic") Obama marketplace plans are over $13,000 just in premiums. The problem on the one hand is that medical costs are simply too high, and they are gouging young, healthy people to pay for the chronically unhealthy and those who are not pulling their weight.

Hmm, I've got around 16k tossed into the market. Cash I pulled outta my bank. At the low end of the scale I'll make 40k with AMRN. Not bad. I'd have paid myself back the investment amount. All investments done in the future would then be "free" from a cost perspective. Anything earned would be considered Profit. At the high end I'll rake in 80,000.00. Once I pay myself back, why should I give a shit if it all goes to hell? I'm not out anything.
