Is internet money a meme?

It genuinely pisses me off that a 14 year old kid can post videos of himself riding a scooter around can grow his youtube channel into a million dollar income magnet just because he posts clickbaity bullshit videos every fucking day

The same thing goes for Instagram, pretty much all social media that will give you the opportunity to make ad revenue off clicks.

Is this talent of attracting viewers to bullshit in order to make money off ads an art form or just a meme?

It frustrates me and I feel like I should at least try to do it myself, but then again I want to tell myself the odds are impossible and these kinds of things wont be around in the next 2+ years.

How many people do you know who earn a living that way? See. You get about 1$ per 1000 views.

My friend has 8,000 subscribers and makes a consistent $1,200 per month. I didn't believe him at first but he actually showed me personally

Well, YouTube gives you a really small percentage of the actual money being made. And people dont really search for new content on YouTube. So I wouldnt use YouTube to make my money online.

Instead you should make your own website. With real content. Your content can be sold to new readers over and over again. New people search for your content every day. As its not a video you can easily be found through keywords. And you can just get affiliate deals and rake in the full amount of ad money. And thats indeed what I do.

Even if you do something as stupid as comparing mobile phones you can reach a large audience.

I was like OP, angry and mad at how easy it is for young people to make money on the internet. Then, a year ago, I said I wanna try it too. Started a twitter account and postet pics of cute animals - having 1,1million followers now, make 3k a month literally with shitposting. For every link to a shop I make about 50-100€ and it takes me less than 30 secs.

Just like someone above me said, if you dont play the game, you cant complain

When one as 16living with my parents i made mad money (for a 16yr old like $400 a month)

Bought an AK (real clean wasr10/63)
Eventually bought a $1500 car and went on to bigger and better things.

I really couldn't push $400 a month, but then again I only had like one website, and refused to abuse the 60k emails I had.

Is that Twitter thing still viable? And the pics you post are ones you took or just shit ripped from the internet?

>> No.1567359

yeah its still going, tho I cant really make any more followers

its just random pics of cute animals I found on the web. I would be a millionaire if I started years ago

So internet money now revolves around making advertisement revenue off of youtube videos?

My friend has built close to a two million dollar business built off of mobile sales. The internet isn't just youtube. If you're looking at it from a business perspective, then it's an open market.

I know plenty of people who make their living on internet money, including myself but I got out. The short of it is that though these people are rolling in cash money now they have not the foresight to figure out that youtube will eventually stop paying them money or whatever popular website they run will dry out.

And how did you get followers?

>> No.1567379

follow people, 10%-50% will follow back. Takes some time cause you can only follow 1000 people per day, but once you are big and you get retweeted enough the followers come from alone. You can google that

I put affiliate links in some tweets, and depending if people who click that link buy something I get a cut (1%-10% usually)

I had wanted to try this I think last year or farther back. Find a niche and just post random images with the occasional Amazon link or something.
Don't want to get banned or ip banned from twitter doing posting a link. But it sounds like a good way to get some money in my pocket to focus on other shit I want to do.
