New job is still in the works. 50/50 shot of getting it. Has nothing to do with competition either.

Title/ pay grade still to be determined. If they get it worked out and it's something I qualify for then the job is mine. No mater what it'd still be a pay bump for me. Just how large a bump is still unknown. But things are still moving, honestly expect to be in a new job by eoy.

Then I'd get a 5% after 6 months.

They need the help bad, I happen to have the skills they need so it ain't like they're creating a job outta thin air here. It's a win win thing. They get the help, I get a pay bump.

Might also be getting a new Gov by eoy so hey 2020 will be starting out pretty nice indeed.

Bernie Sanders promises all these things as president:

An interesting thing is that our Gov recently hiked the mid point salaries for all the pay grades. So a Grade 9 the mid point is 35k. A grade 9 is kinda at the low/mid level of the scale.

A Grade 10 the mid is over 40k. You get the idea.

I make less than mid point cause I started at the entry level salary and nobody thought to jack it up on my behalf even though I do good work and damn sure deserve it.

Should be noted that this is the same gov who said our pensions are doomed unless they "change things" and who gave some dude in state government a 200k a year salary (which is more than the Gov himself makes btw)

So just goes to show that it's all bullshit. I honestly expect him to come out with some shit like "I'll give all workers a raise in time for Christmas" as a ploy to gain votes come nov.

Which I'll gladly take. But it won't change my vote.

Maybe. The dems once again don't seem keen on him making it to the final ballot though. They apparently wanted Harris, but she turned out to be far too dirty in unacceptably unsubtle ways. Now the story is Warren and Biden, both suck. It's quite a circus. They had a cinderella candidate drop in their laps with Tulsi but naturally they sabotaged her because she didn't follow the party line close enough and she was an important reason for their girl Harris rapidly losing traction.

They jacked the salaries in an attempt to lure people to work for the state. But here's what they don't tell you till your on the hook.

New hires get dumped into a 401k plan. There is no management over it, the plan is one of those target date things based on your retirement date. No defined pension anymore. This is the default option.

You can retire after 30 years. But note the 401k above. What happens if there is big market shat? There goes your Retirement. Also if your dumping only the min amount over into it you sure ain't gonna have anything worth a damn after 30 years and really not if there's a big shat.

So yes you can start at age 18 and work till age 48 and walk out "fully retired" but what will you have when you do? Keep in mind that your health ins/other shit gets sucked out as well.

So new hires get the shaft.

Me, I got on before they fucked with shit.

Pension
401k and not that target shit either

I don't got a problem with the target funds themselves per say. But if your almost at retirement and the market shats your faced with an ugly choice.

Retire as planned and take a big hit in the wallet

or put off retirement and wait for the market/fund to recover the lost cash.

Which depending on how bad the shat is may take a while.

Also you gotta think about how old you are and just where you are in life at that point.

So yeah..

There's really not such a thing as a safe option. While the stock market as a whole isn't a zero-sum game, the options market is.

That said, selling covered calls is a way of limiting your exposure. Your maximum loses are limited, and you're really only losing the value that the stock would've gained, while gaining regular income from it if the price stays stagnant. So they're a good conservative play.

Inflation is, effectively, a tax, but it's undesirable from a policy perspective because of who it hurts vs who it benefits. Inflation doesn't really fit into the progressive/regressive dichotomy - it generally hurts people who collect debts and people living on fixed income from pensions/annuities (or who have large cash/bond savings), while helping people who owe debts or own physical goods. It's also typically a but of a pain for income-earners - while their wages should theoretically keep up with cost of living increases, in practice wage friend tends to lag slightly, especially if workers don't take initiative and renegotiate regularly.

So generally, bad for the old, good for the young, and rich people don't really care either way.

I'll make a shit pot on AMRN that's true but hell just cause you get lucky once don't mean you won't get burned down the road. Why risk your hard earned dough on dodgy shit that could make you even worse off than you started?

Cost average in and out of volatile stocks. The dude weed is prone to false reversals and fakeouts on the daily and occasionally weekly time frames. Use trailing stop to protect gains (do so manually if brokerage doesn't have that functionality), use a combination of low ball bids and stops to improve cost average. Consider hedging against drawdown with puts.

After BYND ipo'd i went to A&W to sample this magic "meat". Paid i think 25-50 cents more for the privilege than the posted price on real beef burg. Had a bite or two. Understood at once. It's all marketing hype. Slightly improved flavor vegetable burg? No. The peacock don't fly.

Now that isn't to say BYND won't become default standard of veggie burgs. If it does it will be plenty successful. The market for this kind of product, however, is unlikely to explode in size.

>Is there a way to make them not do that?
no.. but who cares..
>That's a myth.
it looks like so.. Quora answer from a finance professor:

"They’re really not ‘your’ shares, they’re in street name. Your name is attached to them only in the broker’s records. The underlying firm (the one that issued the shares) has no idea who you are.

Have you noticed that you get your proxy statements, annual reports, dividends and the like, from your broker, and not from the firm? The firm doesn’t know you. Nor do they want to.

You can’t prevent your shares from being borrowed, because you don’t have any shares, if they’re in your account.

From a practical standpoint, you’ll never know if your shares are borrowed for shorting, anyway. No one can tell you if they’ve been borrowed or not, because no one knows.

The broker just dips into his pool of margin accounts, and allows another customer (or another firm) to ‘borrow’ them. In theory.

In practice, no shares really ever leave. It’s all an accounting function, one you’ll never know about, anyway. It’s all back office bookkeeping, there are no certificates, anywhere in the process."

>myth

Is it? I don't know exactly how brokerages work in this regard. It seems to me that a tranche of shares on the books with some sort of pending order should not be simultaneously loaned to short sellers. If you know how this works or have a link i can read i would appreciate. It's interesting to me.

Cause they can't fuck with your shit in a cash account. If I hold those shares in a margin account that I paid for with my cash without a loan from them, why should they be allowed to lend out those shares? They don't belong to the broker. There's no loan so there's no collateral. They have no right. Lmao, this. Let me let you all in on a little secret, some insider information if you will. NewRez purchased my mortgage not too long ago. 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage on paper. Sounds like a good deal for them, huh? But things are not all as they seem. You see, I've been socking away a little extra each month, and I've continued to do that with NewRez as well. These extra payments double the normal principal payment, sometimes more. We're only four years into the mortgage. I figure it should be paid off in about seven years following current projections. NRZ keeps sending me letters, begging me to take "advantage" of my built-up equity and do a cash-out refinance. I requested a payoff amount on their website once just for fun... The very next day, someone from NRZ begs me to reconsider and says they want to make sure I won't refinance with another lender. It's pathetic. Utter desperation.

I have once fallen into the REIT trap chasing dividends.. it was a hard lesson but it also applies to bond etfs.. people don't understand that when the notes get paid off early and a lot of times they DO get paid off early.. it takes away cash flow from the company... when this happens they cut dividend and the stock usually tanks and takes awhile to build back up... I know that there are some good REITs out there.. but imo most aren't mREITs and the few mREITs that are good.. don't pay out dividends with over 10% yeild... but yet.. i have to see this one faggot in here post over and over and over about NRZ while the price just continues to sink.. and then to top it off he constantly bashes LCI... it's fucking sickening.. he's either fucking retarded or purposely losing people money.. people like him kill this thread..

You do realize it's a crime to lie about companies entering bankruptcy proceedings, right?

>Manipulation is intentional conduct designed to deceive investors by controlling or artificially affecting the market for a security. Manipulation can involve a number of techniques to affect the supply of, or demand for, a stock. They include: spreading false or misleading information about a company; improperly limiting the number of publicly-available shares; or rigging quotes, prices or trades to create a false or deceptive picture of the demand for a security. The key is timing, research and capital in order to make Profit.

Time - Getting in when the stock takes a big shat, such as during Mega Dip 1.0 last winter. Also time you have to let the stock price climb or drip before you need the Profits. Time can be your friend or your hated enemy depending on needs.

Research - Don't just take some random words at face value, read up on the company yourself.
If they are a company who's stock is in the shat but are delivering on what they promise then they may be worth a look.

Capital - The seed money you need to get the ball rolling on your path to Profit. One puny share will do you little good unless you got 40 years and the the company in question is growing like crazy and splits the stock over time. Even then the payoff is dicey cause you know splits are rare now and the company may have hard times over the next 40 years.
This is not the "Amazon" days anymore.

EX: your wanting to drip for income later. If your young this means you need less up front seed money. If your older the more seed money you need to make up the difference. If your 50 your outta luck cause it'd take a shit load of seed money to even make anything worth a damn by the time your 65.

J. K. GALBRAITH, in his classic study of the 1929 Wall Street crash, wrote: 'In the United States, the suicide wave that followed the stock market crash is also part of the legend of 1929. In fact, there were none. For several years before 1929, the suicide rate had been gradually rising. It continued to increase in that year, with a further and much sharper increase in 1930, 1931, and 1932 ... The statistics for New Yorkers, who might be assumed to have had a special propensity for self-destruction derived from their special propinquity to the market, show only a slight deviation from those of the country as a whole.' Indeed, the suicide rate in the US was higher in the summer months before the crash when the stock market was prospering. One cause of the myth is that there were some suicides related to the crash, including jumping from windows. For example, two men jumped out of a window in the Ritz. Allegedly, clerks in downtown hotels started asking guests whether they wanted a room for sleeping or jumping. However, few people jumped from windows: jumping from a bridge, dousing oneself in gasoline and lighting, gassing and shooting were all used. The press, though, did not let reality stop them from running lurid stories about huge numbers of suicides.

Pretty confident I'm gonna rake in 40,000 - 80,000 with AMRN. Realistically the final amount would be in the middle, 60,000, due to the average stock price of 30 + the buyout price of 30.

So how to spend my new found Profit? I've already got a plan in mind.

T-babies - $8,400. Would give 250 total shares to let drip for 20+ years.

VFORX - Total market fund; Bonds & Stocks. Seed it with $6,000 upfront then add to it each month automatically outta my paycheck. Keep at it till I retired.

$45,600 left.

40,000 - dumped into a High Yield account. Let grow till retirement . Add to it each month outta my check

5,600 - Dumped into reg savings for "shit happens" type deals. Add to this each month till retirement.

This is on top of my work 401k and pension, plus my other stocks and cash.

These people really dont understand that people arent paid enough to spend money. People I know fall into two categories.
Even doctors and shit barely have enough to make middle class lifestyles.
The rich just don’t understand. Its why you see clips of billionaires thinking a can of coke is $20.
Then when problems come up they blame politicians, the ones they paid off to break rules for them to fuck over american wages.
These rich didnt even “make it” themself. 99% of people in power were born in it. Given it, not earned. They just have no perspective.
It will only get worse for people until a revolution happens. There is too much power in too few, it’s impossible to let the system work itself out. When will walmart senpai let half of americas wealth back in the economy? That will NEVER happen.

I said I was a finance exec, I am not a doctor. I have an excellent birds eye view of who costs how much.

Secondly the link between smoking and CV disease has been extensively documented for decades. It wreaks havoc on blood pressure, which in turns affects the kidneys (you ARE familiar with the renin–angiotensin system right?) which eventually leads to CKD which eventually leads to dialysis. Which is very, very expensive. Smokers even fuck up their peripheral blood vessels; we do a lot of peripheral angioplasties at our facilities for them.

Facts are facts. Smoking costs are a far cry from the affects of fatties on our health care system. Just look at the numbers.
Sure a smoker costs more than a fatty on average. But there are more fatties, some fatties smoke, compounding the health effects.
Im not a big medical fag but i have lots in my family.
Just basic factual true undebatable numbers trump smokings numbers, and accounting for the fact almost all other health conditions are probably related to overeating/bad eating. Unhealthy fat fucks are what is crippling the system. Smoking rates drop every year. And smokers spend way more money of of pocket than other faggots. No one is giving a smokers new lungs to keep dragging the system down. We do anything and everything for fatties.
Go check back through all your patients and find all the fatties between the smokers. Estimate how much worse fat smokers cost that just smokers. You’ll see...

Still young enough to work someplace else if you wanted and "retire" again. But due to the low col of the state you shouldn't have to unless you got bills out the ass or some shit. There's loopholes you can exploit in the retirement regs also. State gives you sick time and vacation time. paid I might add. At retirement time any vac time you got they reimburse you for. Any vac time over 240 hrs gets dumped over into sick time. Sick time can be used as credit to knock down the time you gotta put in yet still draw a full pension. Or you can use it the other way to increase your payout without having to actually work that time. Vac time goes up over time. 20 years equals 2 days of vac time a month. We get paid 12 holidays a year plus we get off during election years for Gov and President. State gives you 4 hrs of paid voting time also.

it's not against the ToS and paypal has even written gift cards and digital goods into their purchase guarantee. yes they will leave sellers out to dry that's what I was talking about. you just disagreed with me and then reiterated exactly what I said.

I plan to use those loopholes. I plan to put in 27 years (be 50) and walk out with actually getting 28 years of credit. Depending on if my previous employer was part of the retirement network (kinda in a gray area on this one) I could walk out at 50 but get a pension of someone who worked 30 years. My freedom starts at 50.

i was a tripfag until i realized how retarded it is to make a name for yourself on a website where users are anonymous

I like you so ill explain. Reddit spacing is annoying because it shows the person spends so much time on reddit they would setup their spacing that way without thinking.
If you spend time of 4chan and go to reddit and do it the same shit doesnt make sense.
So if you reddit space it’s 99.99999% chance they are a reddit faggot

If you're in the military you can retire after 20 with pension. I know a couple of guys who retired before they were 40, got a second job with their degrees they earned in the service, and are now collecting 2 incomes while also covering their kids college with the GI Bill

ATBPF is a long term play. It likely won't go up by any significant margin until phase 3 is in progress, which means you probably have about a year to accumulate. After FDA approval and their high-WOMAC stomach-safe NSAID has been on the market a bit, the value could easily jump from $0.28 a share to $28 within a year. Basically, if you buy it up, expect it to be a 5 year play, minimum. I gobbled up 25,000 shares.

For longer effortposts, separating into paragraphs makes it easier and more intuitive to read. It has always been this way, long before your reddit boogeyman burrowed its way into your head and started living there rent free

Maybe because im not some binary faggot? I was just reiterating its a bad idea to sell on ebay. I dont know specifics but i know the nature of cards isnt really covered easily. Cause people can just say you already used it or something idk. I just know people that fuck with it cant make margin unless they steal these or get them dirt cheap somehow. If you sell correctly you dont really get screwed selling if people try to pull shit, i have always got my money for disputes

The problem with that idea is that people on reddit aren't the only ones who separate their posts like that
If it was just people on reddit who did it, then I could understand, but many people on a wide variety of websites do it

I'm a state worker. But yeah I got a few buds who joined the military. One's getting very close to the 20 mark. But the thing with me is that my only debt is my house. Plus the col is low as hell. Just me, my wife, and two cats. So when I walk out no need for me to get another job unless I get bored as hell. 50 and free with a fat wad in the bank. Kick back and watch my neighbors work to death cause hell they got 3 kids to support. (Yeah, they ain't never gonna be free)
