Should I take a project manager course? I was looking for jobs and through networking talked to a project manager at my college I attended. She said "Can you tell people what to do? That's what a project manager does and its easy as fuck. You just gotta take this one half year course and you can be one" basically. Any project managers on /biz/ confirm this?

No. You don‘t become a project manager by taking a course. You become a project manager because someone in your organisation needs a project manager und thinks, you are appropriate (for whatever reason).

I think they forgot to tell you about the probable 10 years experience needed first.
