When I said "potential price fixing lawsuit" I should be clear that this means active lawsuits by (I think) the majority of the states' attorneys general. The suits target a wide net of generics companies, not just Lannett, but Lannett is named and at risk for penalties.

Ah! This is good actually! Legitimate grievances. I'd like to address them with my own thoughts and peeps can take from that what they will.

- they've been paying off debt early, and are continuing down that path. It is true they have significant debt, but compare it to others in the same industry, namely Teva.
- turnaround effort is in progress, true, but look exactly at how much progress has been made since Crew took over, and particularly since last August.
- price fixing suits are a meme, imo, Teva is the targeted ringleader, with the one defendant from LCI being a former Teva employee.
- decreasing generics prices is legitimate. I don't have a response to this really, except they've been getting a lot of lucrative contracts to increase revenue and profits.

You mean they can handle any penalties? Bears might argue that the penalties would put enough strain on Lannett that they would need to declare bankruptcy. Seeking Alpha has a number of bear articles written by short sellers (mainly The Capitolist) over a good period of time. You might want to read if yoy want to know bear arguments. I'm just listing outlines of the bad things people say about LCI since you asked. I would be long if I still had any shares.

I don't agree. LCI is a defendant, and it's clear that prosecutors are not just targeting TEVA. When I owned LCI, I chose to ignore price fixing lawsuits, only because I don't really have the competency to evaluate the likelihood of penalties and the impact of those penalties. I think it would be naive, however, to brush them off entirely and say that they are not a potential risk.

Your statement that Maureen Cavanaugh is the only individual at LCI named is wrong. I think there was at least one other individual named.

Yeah, that's who I was thinking of. You could be right about that distinction. But as far as criminal charges, I don't think it's true at all to say they are only targeting Teva and everyone else is safe. It's supposed to be an industry-wide conspiracy. that's just how free options trading works breh
you can try and sue them but you'll lose, they aren't doing anything that their user agreement says they shouldn't

options exchanges aren't the same as stock exchanges. options spreads and volumes are way different
it's just the rules of the game. you should stick to trading stocks, and never trust RH information

actually this is a good time for a 'teachable moment' for all you zoomers:
never trust any information without double-checking a different source or two. just because you see a number or a word or something on a computer screen or a telephone screen doesn't make it true

Look, the thing is, unless you actually have the expertise to give an opinion the the contrary, it looks pretty ignorant to me to say, "they're just going after Teva, bro." If there's a lawsuit that says they're targeting Lannett too, and names employees (at least one) from Lannett and names drugs produced by Lannett (e.g. levothyroxine), it seems like you'd better have a good argument that Lannett is totally immune from penalties other than (1) Teva purportedly being a ringleader and (2) "dude, just trust me."

I think the stock stats on Robinhood were all right at one point in time. They're just updated infrequently. When looking at dividends, ideally you would lookup with the actual dividend payment amount is to calculate yield, as well as looking at the dividend history and thinking about the likelihood of the company to continue the dividend and grow it over time. It's like Peter Lynch said: you should spend at least as much time researching before buying a stock as you would before buying a new refrigerator.

Supplywise I think it's pretty good, average grades of gold deposits are trending down worldwide, and AISC costs are pretty steady where they are around 1000 USD an oz.

However my only fear is that it's just like Buffett says , it doesn't do anything and people just stop buying it, I know an old chinese lady though and she said buying gold is a big part of chinese culture which provides some support.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanvardi/2019/06/12/move-over-martin-shkreli-this-pharma-exec-is-accused-of-fixing-prices-on-107-drugs/

>Although court documents don’t identify a mastermind behind this five-year-long price-fixing conspiracy, one person, Maureen Cavanaugh, a former senior vice president at one of the world’s largest generic-drug makers, Teva Pharmaceuticals, stands out as perhaps its most important capo. In the new lawsuit, the states accuse Cavanaugh, the highest-ranking Teva executive named, of colluding to raise prices on 107 different generic drugs. According to state attorneys, she held discussions with subordinates to go over price arrangements with competitors and at least once, in a bit of theatrics, put her hands over her ears, pretending not to hear what was being said.

Teva exec, now working at LCI, is primarily why LCI is involved at all. In comparison with their competitors, assuming LCI is even found guilty, which still has to be proven, LCI will be the least scathed. So, given the burden of proof in civil cases is "preponderance of the evidence", (for you non law fags that just means more likely to be true than not) if LCI is found guilty, it's safe to say that all the others would be found guilty as well. It's also safe to say that, given the circumstances, that being Cavanaugh was a Teva exec, that LCI has a good chance, though not 100%, of being clear and free. If the latter were not the case, but the former, then all of the other generic companies would face fines and penalties steeper than LCI, which puts them ahead of their competitors.

FDA dropping bombs

>03:28 PM EDT, 09/13/2019 (MT Newswires) -- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday issued a warning that Pfizer's (PFE) Ibrance, Novartis' (NVS) Kisqali, and Eli Lilly's (LLY) Verzenio used to treat some patients with advanced breast cancers may cause rare but severe inflammation of the lungs. Shares of all three drugmakers were lower.

>Sept 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on Friday that some medicines containing ranitidine, commonly known as Zantac, had traces of a probable cancer-causing impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) at low levels.

>ARBs such as valsartan, the generic version of Novartis AG's Diovan, have been recalled by drugmakers such as Mylan NV, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Novartis' Sandoz, as the drugs have been found to contain probable carcinogens.

AMRN & T + a side helping of DIS,Comcast,BHGE, and GE. With support provided by VTI of course. How can I go wrong with that, ha, Profit is mine there is no doubt.

The support behind AMRN is growing every week leading up to Nov 14th. The FDA will have little choice but to cave. After they cave on the 14th, the final Dec meeting will be nothing but a formality.

Between the 14th and Dec Big Pharma will be looking at AMRN with a microscope. They'll see the writing in the wall namely insane Profit is on the way fast and hard. Will you honestly think they'll let AMRN keep all that Profit for ten years straight? Hell no, they'll buy AMRN before it gets that far.

Look at the recent facts, Lipotor, the previous Profit darling of Big Pharma is getting the Generic brand so there goes the golden Profit goose for them. They're on the hunt for the new goose. AMRN would be the perfect fit.

Hey works out swell for me, I've got 800 shares and I'm ready for my fat paycheck. No mater if it's 50 per, 60, per or the top end 100 per, I'm still gonna rake in a nice haul.

>Antibodies that stimulate the immune system by targeting inhibitory T cell receptors were successfully introduced into oncological practice and are capable to overcome tumor-induced immune evasion. In particular, targeting of the inhibitory receptors CTLA-4 and PD-1 or its ligand PD-L1 have been shown to be beneficial for patients with melanoma, renal cell cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and a growing list of other cancers with impressive response rates. Here, we report a severe, potentially life-threatening side effect of anti-PD-1 immunotherapy with pembrolizumab, which has not been previously described in the literature. A 73-year-old woman with metastatic uveal melanoma treated with pembrolizumab in third line developed severe heart failure due to pembrolizumab-mediated autoimmune myocarditis. Echocardiographic studies revealed a severely impaired left ventricular function with dyssynchrony. All tests for cardiotropic viruses were negative and histological analysis of a myocardial biopsy showed lymphocytic infiltration with a predominance of CD8 positive cells and a reduction of FOXP3 positive regulatory T cells. After initiation of corticosteroids and guideline-conform heart failure therapy, the symptoms rapidly improved and the left ventricular function recovered. While autoimmune myocarditis is a documented side effect of other checkpoint inhibitors, as for example ipilimumab and in one case with anti-PD-L1 antibody, it is not described for anti-PD-1-antibodies like pembrolizumab or nivolumab. As the FDA recently approved both pembrolizumab and nivolumab for melanoma progressing after anti-CTLA-4 treatment with ipilimumab, more patients will soon receive anti-PD-1 therapy. Thus, it is important to be aware of such rare, but severe immune-related adverse events.

good job reading a few sentences of the first abstract

>Chronic Chagas disease cardiomyopathy, caused by Trypanosoma cruzi infection, is a major cause of heart failure in Latin America. Galectin-3 (Gal-3) has been linked to cardiac remodeling and poor prognosis in heart failure of different etiologies. Herein, we investigated the involvement of Gal-3 in the disease pathogenesis and its role as a target for disease intervention. Gal-3 expression in mouse hearts was evaluated during T. cruzi infection by confocal microscopy and flow cytometry analysis, showing a high expression in macrophages, T cells, and fibroblasts. In vitro studies using Gal-3 knockdown in cardiac fibroblasts demonstrated that Gal-3 regulates cell survival, proliferation, and type I collagen synthesis. In vivo blockade of Gal-3 with N-acetyl-d-lactosamine in T. cruzi-infected mice led to a significant reduction of cardiac fibrosis and inflammation in the heart. Moreover, a modulation in the expression of proinflammatory genes in the heart was observed. Finally, histological analysis in human heart samples obtained from subjects with Chagas disease who underwent heart transplantation showed the expression of Gal-3 in areas of inflammation, similar to the mouse model. Our results indicate that Gal-3 plays a role in the pathogenesis of experimental chronic Chagas disease, favoring inflammation and fibrogenesis. Moreover, by demonstrating Gal-3 expression in human hearts, our finding reinforces that this protein could be a novel target for drug development for Chagas cardiomyopathy.

This study, among many other which I haven't linked (and am not going to take the time to because there's no point in doing it anyways, but it's there if you actually take the time to look) shows that galectin-3 has a clear role in cardiac remodeling and fibrosis, Chagas disease just happens to be the catalyst in this case

Why would they take profits? Because the stock market is fickle, and they had too much of their wealth tied up in company stock. Maybe they knew that the insane rise in the stock price was unsustainable. Maybe they thought the market was peaking. Maybe they just wanted to take SOME winnings. There's no way to be sure.

It's just buy low sell high.

Also, if you have all your money tied up in one company's stock, and you also depend on that company for employment, you would be absolutely fucked if something really bad were to happen to that company. You'd be out of a job AND broke.

I don't know what the going rate is now but I think the most expensive work I ever got done was Giri Giri sisters. I had the whole thing done. Depending on page count and how hard the text is to do your looking at about $50 - 60 for a regular work , or least it was back then.

But the most important thing is finding someone who does good work, who won't rip you off, and who'll deliver the goods once you pay them. Most of these groups/people use paypal (or they did use it, i dunno about now)

* Love selection, a nice work, but god it was kinda awful, bunch of different people worked on the translation bit and you could tell it right off. So it was kinda all over the place. So when Giri Giri came along, I decided to fix that little problem.

Good thing I got a small stake in Comcast then.

I think the market is vastly overlooking LGF. Sure the stock is in the shat, but that makes the upswing oh so much the sweeter. They're building a massive studio complex in new york, they've opened a theme park in china. Hello, this is early Universal/Dis type shit before they expanded like crazy. The Streaming Wars will be the key. Everyone's wanting content. Those who have it will be the winners. Cause fuck, creating new shit costs tons of money and if the viewers end up hating it then you've wasted money. V.S DIS/T/Comcast/LGF who've got ass loads of it in vaults somewhere. Pull out some shit nobody's seen in 30 years and there you go, a new generation of potential fans await.

So if your wanting to enter the Streaming Wars it makes it far better financially to simply buy some small outfit that has all the shit you need already. (Hello Apple for example)

I want it to be at the point where anyone who buys now thinks it’s game over, time to take their losses and get on with their lives. That’s when I’ll be a buyer.

They just eliminated their dividend, so they’ll probably be removed from whatever mutual funds and ETFs have it, and every income investor will see that there’s a non-dividend paying stock in their portfolio at the end of the year, and remove it. full crab, gently upward but very slowly (<5% per year, <2% per year above equity inflation)
all the possible near/mid term actions of market actors agree. debt levels and interest rates and tools of financial manipulation all agree. fundamentals agree. Charts (technical) I have no idea, I don't read charts.

if this crab market gets broken, there is 50/50 chance that it will break into a bull market or bear market, either side would need an unexpected event for that to happen.

most of the highest probability "breaks" in the crab market are bearish
maybe the easiest is if liz warren or b. sanders gets elected AND gets enough congresswomen on their side to pass some nutty legislation. Or maybe US election happens in such a way that our government becomes non-functional.
Even a US/China trade deal right now, whatever it is, will NOT put us into a bull market. Earnings can't go where we would need them to go, not enough money will flow to US equities to pump valuations, the crab will still take hold.

the crab is fine. Don't hate the crab. respect the crab and grab yields.

>> No.15587262

Alright, here’s how it is.

We’re going to consilidate a bit and dip, that’s almost certainly the case, but its within a larger bullish trend, within what is ultimately a golden bull channel, but there will eventually be a recession during that golden run.

I’m afraid that we’re in for a bit of turbulence though. The market is absolutely certain Powell will cut.

I think there’s a very strong chance that if/when he does, he indicates that it is not part of an easing cycle, that it’s an insurance cut, and that he does not anticipate further easing will be necessary.

Therefore, I will be buying TVIX into the FOMC meeting. I will likely be using a stoploss... of maybe 1.5%, because there’s a chance he goes full dove, but I’d rate that as very unlikely.

I constantly shill for KNG
I don't get anything if you buy KNG, in fact (as I have discussed at length a few months ago) it's actually worse for my position if a buy-write trade gets crowded. but I like buy-write strategies and KNG is currently best-of-breed. It's not exciting. it's basically a damped SPLV in terms of price movement but it pays twice as much yield.

In an abstract sense, the things that you want are:
yield growth (>>> yield)
yield
growth (of stock price)
stability
tax advantage (or, 'no tax disadvantage', depends how you want to see it)
time advantage

growth and yield growth come from earnings growth.
KNG does a good job of providing yield and yield growth. It is basically NOBL (dividend aristocrats underlying, cap weighted) with a flexible covered call strategy on top to get 3% higher div yield than the overall SP500.

there are many other ways to get this strategy.

for you:
1. if you're trying to play options, cut it out. market is unpredictable . premiums (vix synthetic) are unpredictable. Don't worry about it
2. grab safe yields. look for companies with solid earnings streams and reasonable debt levels.
3. that's it really. You can just buy ETFs instead if you want

what have you been in the past month? this month has been good for me, the previous month not so much :/ I'm more mid-cap/small cap/value right now, haven't bought or sold much since July

>> No.15587303

I was scared of a recession so I moved my money out of stocks into SPLV and gold. The gold made me a ton of money but it dipped hard last week and now I'm down for the year/month.

I like SPLV but it's been underperforming on a short timeframe. I'll definitely give KNG a look though. My most decent time was when my money was in dividends, and a good chunk of it is still in bond ETFs.

Thanks dude.

SPLV was waaaayyyyy over bought in the first half of the year.
it was outperforming super hard, so money flowed out of it to other venues.
Like if you bought SPLV in January it was the greatest, but if you bought too late after that you're chasing and not leading.

there are some traders in this thread who are 10x better than me. But I'm also in a situation where I have a full time job and can't day-trade and watch the markets enough to perform. (also my schedule changes every couple weeks :p )

so I have already had to transform my portfolio into one that is more stable and yield-focused, low maintenance.
I still have some memes. I have GALT, I have LCI, etc. But I'm very broadly allocated across equities and I stopped buying options altogether. I'm set to ride out the crab market, accumulate cash, and buy dips. Limit selling to high-beta positions with trailing stops (still position dependent)

There is a huge amount to be said about buying mindset vs selling mindset

I think there is some empirical research that shows that everyone makes mistakes selling. Some people make a little less mistakes, but no one is a perfect seller. The human mindset is more attuned to buying.
But that means that everyone else in the market is looking and saying "what should I buy" constantly. And the selling mindset is just saying "what shouldn't I buy?" and not "what should I sell"
no matter how much autism you have or aspergers or schizoid or whatever, it still doesn't help. even the best humans with disorders don't have the right 100% selling mentality. so you want to focus on the buying and the holding. Look for positions that don't require complex selling decisions (only "normal" selling decisions like a % trailing stop).

>>15587402
