So this dude I was talking to was telling me he made it through crypto arbitrage between sites.

Basically he would trade the spread between exchanges and while avoiding slippage would trade the difference between an American and euro exchange vs a Chinese one and keep the difference.

He didn't have time to go into detail but I'm looking for more info about how to get started in this if I'm in america.

You need to have some coding skills, or at least the ability to set up a github acct where you will have access to the software you need. Set up accounts, get api keys for every exchange and then you make the magic happen, buy low sell high from one site to another. It was a lot easier back in the day. Now that everyone and their broker are all pointing bots at everything, you don't get the big price differences you used to. It may take months to find the magic formula and develop the strategies, find exchanges, and currencies that work best for you.

That sounds pretty hard to do betwren different exchanges in different countries. Wouldn't you need to ability to wire money instantly from exchange to exchange to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities? I am curious

Remember OP, od someone is making money then they won't tell you how they are doing it out of purely your interest

that's a nice way to make profit yea, i used to do that year ago. Recently i just discovered xFutures where they allow people to trade tokens pre-ieo and pre-ico phase.
Pretty much guaranteed profit as I;ve made my 4x on Perlin

I have build a crypto arbitrage bot that trades between huobi and tradesatoshi.
You will need to put some coins on each exchange and then run it, set variables, etc, the bot will buy on one exchange and sell on another and made a small profit, the problem is when moving the coins around because you will lose the profit,
I am happy to share it, here is a screen
On red is the profit, I been running it for two hours

come on dude, lets think this through. if you want to be able to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities you have to keep funds on both exchanges.
