Is ETH the index fund of altcoins? If not, but bet on very risky cryptos and lose it all, rather than a 10x in ETH long term?

no it's not, because "altcoins" are going to zero while ethereum is going to flip bitcoin.
Daily fees on bitcoin are only ~2x fees on ethereum, and that's with speculation on ether itself nearly dead.

yeah. if you want to capture altcoin exposure, essentially just buy eth. outside of top 20 coins most alt projects are cash grabs

...including top 20 coins almost all of them are also cash grabs. I can count the number of legit top 20 coins on one hand.

just buy eth yes

what are they?

The real flippening is not when ether flips bitcoin, that will never happen. Its when one of the coins built on ethereum becomes more valuable than ether itself

no it is not. the absolute state of ETH is a pathetic fucking mess. if IF ETH 2.0 is completed ever (2 years from kow is the earliest date) then ETH might not go to zero. that's the best case scenario. rightnow today, ETH is a failure
