I knew this was gonna get delayed. No way there are 50 startups willing to use chainlink.

lmao, the start-ups aren't (all) going to be data sources you dip.
The whole point is applications that implement smart contracts, which may very well power 90% of all mainstream transactions soon.
As it stands now, probably the majority of all crypto projects need oracles.

You have a very narrow understanding of this.

"The program is enabling a new generation of start-ups and developers to collaborate, build, and scale on enterprise-grade solutions like Oracle’s next-generation cloud infrastructure and blockchain-as-a-service.”

Did you look into the 3 startups already announced? Seriously they're fucking pajeet bullshit tier even by startups standards. Did you see Fernando interacting on Twitter with the linkies like a complete retard? Did you see the kind of startup people that reached out to him in the Twitter comments? I swear I saw him reply to a roastie running a horoscope website telling her to reach out to him if interested. This whole thing is a joke. He's not gonna deliver 50, and none of them will be valuable data sources. Also in case you haven't noticed all the nodes are running at a loss except for the heartbeat paid for by chainlink itself. No start-up is going to focus on a side gig they don't understand the value of and is bleeding money anyway, even with oracle doing the heavy lifting for them and giving them cheap cloud service. No one is using smart contracts for defi use cases, much less the kind of retarded use cases Fernando presented like clothing inventories.

According to Fernando, "other enterprise systems".

“In addition, some of our enterprise customers need their blockchain applications to access data from other enterprise systems, and Chainlink approach could potentially be an interesting way to achieve this.”

Yes.

>But the startups are the ones selling their data.
They're taking API data and putting it on the blockchain

>Now tell me how the above statement makes sense to you.
The Chainlink oracle (run by a startup) fetches data from an API (run by "other enterprise systems") and feeds it on-chain for use in smart contracts by Oracle's "enterprise customers".

You are visibly struggling over the absolute basics here.

How the fuck do you think smart contracts work? If there's no data, there's no smart contract with real world use case. More data, more smart contracts. More diverse data, more diverse opportunities and scenarios to employ smart contracts.

Do you know what you've invested in in the first place?
