Staking is the last piece of the puzzle. My guess is it will be the last major piece released because once it is out, that's when the big money will flow in and the big contracts will be created.

You simply can't have something as important as staking go live without crucial side pieces such as threshold sigs, which ensure an efficient network. In any case, you have to consider how the team has been releasing things. They make sure things are fully good to go and bug free. Any developer will tell you this is the way to go with a small team. Only pajeets would be rushing out the full mainnet, only to have it full of bugs afterwards.

Everything is falling into place as it should be.
