Actually, there has been a fuckload of research on this topic. The three most important factors that keep 95% of people out of poverty if they follow are as follows.

1. Have a father in the home (the number 1 pull factor)
2. Don't have a kid before you're married or don't have a kid
3. Get a job, literally any job

If you do these three things there's a 95% chance that you won't live in poverty.
