It's solid in that you'll find employment
But it's also not everyones cup of tea. You might find you hate it which is where the "accounting meme" meme came from

Depends how you use it. Accounting is not all bad. Can net you valuable business insight. Its the language of business. Sure if you just stick to accounting it gets dull.
But if you are smart, and combine the insight with previous knowledge, and for example finance; you could have quite a lethal set of knowledge for a good life. Just my 2 cents. But agreed accounting can be a grind and not for everyone.
