After I'm truly back on my feet I'm moving back east. Honestly don't really give a fuck where as long as I can find work. Even if I hit some kind of jackpot of a job there's no way I'd pay these prices. I remember a time not too long ago prices were 1/2-1/3 what they are now. It's like remembering 99 cent whoppers then they shoot up to 40 bucks a piece and you can no longer afford them. Then you get a job that pays 400 an hour...some people won't get all happy because now they could afford a whopper. It's still an overpriced burger no matter how much you make.

I know a guy that gets paid pretty decent in the software industry. He moved from a new neighborhood in a Seattle suburb to one of the recently super gentrified areas downtown. For no other reason than to feel like he's "made it". Pays a fortune for a tiny box studio that always smells like his cats litter box. I lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years. I’ve bought several condos in the area at relatively high prices - 400-600k for 1 bedroom properties. I’ve paid down the principal significantly and I’ve now moved out of those properties with the intention of renting them out.
