The CEO of an energy firm based in the UK thought he was following his boss’s urgent orders in March when he transferred funds to a third-party. But the request actually came from the AI-assisted voice of a fraudster.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the mark believed he was speaking to the CEO of his businesses’ parent company based in Germany. The German-accented caller told him to send €220,000 ($243,000 USD) to a Hungarian supplier within the hour. The firm’s insurance company, Euler Hermes Group SA, shared information about the crime with WSJ but would not reveal the name of the targeted businesses.

Euler Hermes fraud expert Rüdiger Kirsch told WSJ that the victim recognized his superior’s voice because it had a hint of a German accent and the same “melody.” This was reportedly the first time Euler Hermes has dealt with clients being affected by crimes that used AI mimicry.

Really want to buy certain stocks but I'm getting a vibe I shouldn't. Comparing general current stock prices to pre-2009 recession stock prices shows a large difference. If I buy now and a recession hits Im gonna get stuck bag holding rather than being able to buy cheap stocks. On the other hand stocks end up going up again for another year and I could've made gains. Looks like I'm basically trying to time an entry and exit before the next recession/depression rather than jist staying out consideing how long it's been since the last one.

The only reason he got voted in was because the other choice was cancer. If I had to choose between the flu and cancer sorry but the flu wins. Ask any boomer or magatard you want about trumps plan to fix the trade war AND THEY CANT ANSWER!! They’re blind sheep and they know he’s out next term it’s over for Trump. How tho? Y didnt you buy in at .25c? It's doing a reverse split to get uplisted which means more credibility and investor awareness which means more demand which means more monies. They've got a factory going and when they take their products to market or score some defense contracts since they're receiving R&D funding from the Army, they're looking to make big bucks in the mid to long term. If it's about competence, they've been functioning fairly well as a penny stock corp for 10 years now, plus they're the only ones currently working on this tech for mass production. It's a no brainer to throw some money in there for massively immense potential gains.

Green Thumb Industries has retaken $12. Short term bullish feel. The real break out point isn't until way up at $15. I'd like to see it test that before I start yoinking out profits.

Being well in the green on muh dudes weed while indexes are red is... odd. Weed has been under the bear's paw for so long I'm used to red on index green day, redder on index red day, and sporadic +15% oversold bounces mixed in here and there.

You didn't need to reply this many times to tell me that the conference probably won't be much of anything. I know it probably won't. It is still big, because they have been asked to speak and it is a conference about acquiring capital for research and small business expansion, which means tutes will be there, which is why it is pumping. The conference is big, but it may not be a big deal for SNSS. Then again, it might, because there will be large institutional investors present.

It's usually a bargain with the prosecutor. they get caught doing something else really illegal, but a trial will be costly. Possession is easily provable, so they bargain for a guilty plea for possession to get dangerous criminals off the streets. For example cletus is beating his girlfriend. When the cops show up they find weed, but the girlfriend won't file a complaint. So the prosecutor gets cletus away from the girlfriend for a couple of years.

The odds that we would go up were higher. That's all. Doesn't mean BOX couldn't go lower.. But the "you couldn't have predicted that buyers would come in" is bs... I trade because I have an edge. It was highly likely in my book that we would go to at least 16. I didnt know a single buyer would pump the price that fast but it doesn't change the initial odds.

I quote others only in order the better to express myself - Michel de Montaigne.
The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit - W. Somerset Maugham. Real novelty of vocabulary is impossible; in the matter of language we lead a parasitical existence, and are always quoting. Quotations, conscious or unconscious, vary in kind according as the mind is active to work upon them and make them its own - Walter Raleigh

Let me rephrase then into something less pithy. The stock market is a complex mechanism made up of multiple actors playing thier own games with incomplete information and to expect things to play out how they seem they should from the scattering of data you have and the failings of your intelligence is the game of fools who only exist to hold bags. Because quoting is forbidden to your pea sized brain so we can't say such common aphorism. Not that you know the difference between a quote and an aphorism.

1) Nividia had some stupid earnings reports when crypto currency GPU mining was going nuts. Now their products are easier bought on secondary markets and they're not selling as much.

2) Never heard of it little zoomer.

3) Depends, for example with long term investments I look to see if they actually make money or basically are they going to still be in business and profitable 10-15 years down the road. I would suggest KHC right now.

4) Yeah pretty much every model has the entire globe going into recession. These things happen all the time, this probably won't be as bad as the last one, but I wouldn't buy silver, since once that starts dumping, it dumps hard and doesn't recover for decades.

>Nvidia
Pretty much all tech stocks entered their own tech recession late 2018. Nvidia struggled to recover because they couldn't provide good earnings thanks to their growth/outlook being too bad, the reason for that is simply put... cryptocurrencies. Everyone and their mother bought from Nvidia to mine bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, but when bitcoin dumped hard (went under 6k which is the price miners considers bitcoin to not be valuable to mine anymore) people stopped buying literally hundreds of thousands of graphics cards.

>CHGG
TA wise? Failed to hold 39 (which was important for a continuation upwards) and is now looking for a correction back to 36/36.5, if it holds then test of new highs (if it actually manage to breach 41 on its way up).. but if it fails you're looking at 32-33. Long term bullish I would say, but short/mid term bearish.

>Valuating a stock
For long term investments you have to look at everything. Look at the stats of the company, low debt? Low P/E ratio? Low P/B ratio? Strong EPS? Competitive advantage? Do you think people will care about the company in 20-30 years? Good credit rating? Good divdend along with steady consistent dividend growth? Do you understand the company you're buying? Etc etc etc.
I don't suggest good stocks to invest in, I put too much effort into my portfolio setup to just freely share it. But it's not hard to find solid ones nowadays.

>Recession
You should always expect a recession as an investor, but you shouldn't care about it at all though since investing is 95% of the times for long term purposes. So even if a recession hit your non-recession proof stocks hard, you should just relax and wait it out. That's why it's important to find strong companies that will also provide you with dividends while their stock is trying to recover a 40% loss in price for example.
We might enter a recession tomorrow, in a month, a year, 2022, 2024. Nobody knows and that's why you prep by making a diverse portfolio

It's good practice to establish a pin or secret phrase with a confirmation phrase, like "Prep the bull" followed by the response "Stuff the envelope" before the associate will send money. Takes 2 seconds to establish in person. If you don't say the phrase and get the right phrase back, no money is sent. They'd have to bug the office or the person themselves, and 99.999% of the time that isn't gonna happen. If you wanted you could change the phrases every 3-6 months. People have terrible opsec and are generally wanting to please the boss, especially if the boss is a prick (don't want to get in trouble).
