I'd say short insurance companies but they have already taken it into account. Maybe you could sell overpriced water bottles or flash lights to dumb boomers

I work in fire and EMS and every time we get a major storm like this we get a mandatory recall for all personnel to double up at stations. We work 12hr rotations until the winds kick up over 40mph then we’re out of service until the winds die back down. Last year was pretty comfy during Florence, we all brought consoles, grills, and TV’s and spent most of the storm playing rocket league/nazi zombies and grilling out. Not many people called 911 during the storm cuz most people with sense evac more inland. Plus we get paid overtime for every hour we are on the mandatory recall, even on the 12hrs off between rotations. Made an extra 2 grand on top of my regular check after Florence.

I've lived in Florida for years and I can tell you without a doubt that the best way to profit off a storm is to first of all not live there (because you know, hurricaines) and fly there after every storm as an appraiser. Appraising is a boom everywhere after natural disasters and they always have to import people from other regions to get it done where there is so much.

They can't wait for the locals to work through their backlog because you need it done to get insurance wheel moving most of the time.
