I got sentenced to pay back 400k in tax debt. I made 2 million in the 2017 bull run but lost everything on margin trading. Now my wages are being garnished until full repayment and I am left only with a minimum wage and my house is being auctioned off. Honestly don't know if I should live or kms at this point.

I got the first scare letter, but never got the second letter where they threaten you to pay them X amount. So I think I'm in the clear. Plus I paid my taxes (probably even overpaid).

But one thing that scares me, is they paid a homeless woman to walk into my apartment the night I got the first letter. She didn't even knock she just walked in and saw me playing vidya in my boxers and quickly left. Could be a coincidence but I've never had someone do that before, she was definitely paid by the IRS to scare me. I think they're trying to gaslight me after my schizophrenia diagnosis.

oh, and they have put 5% annual interest on the debt. After appartment seized and auctioned off, I will still have 250k debt left, wage garnishment takes away 40k and leaves me with 20k a year (I can barely afford rent in a shitty place now) and then I have an annual 17500 that will be added onto the debt mountain because of interest. I will literally never be debt free again and my passport has been seized so I can flee the country as I'm now on the serious delinquent list. This is worse than being a slave, its inhumane, and this country calls itself land of the free.. free to oppress and steal from its citizens maybe, yeah..

I cashed out some using Kraken, didn't get a letter. Though I plan to cash out most later this year and pay the taxes.

If you have a significant amount just pay the taxes. If you have small gains just find someone in person to sell for cash.

Let's say you have 100k. If you try to hide it and it goes to a million what the heck are you going to do with it? If you have 1k and it goes to 10k it's not a life changing amount, so just avoid tax and spend it on hookers and drugs.
