Such a fucking blatant cash grab from a dying company that is still trying to stay relevant with their dying game, and of course "gamers" eat it up because they can't differentiate trends and hype from genuine innovation and quality game design.
If you wanted to play classic, you could've played it for years on a private server without giving money to blizzard. As an added bonus you could even play on a server with an xp and gold multiplier (a modest multiplier, 5x or under) and skipped all the grindy bullshit designed exclusively to keep you addicted and paying subscription fees.

well; I won't fall in the WoW escapism again (I hope) but yeah it WAS an amazing game; now I look at it and realize much of the game world was filled with my imagination (best kind of game/movie/novel, one that leaves room for your imagination), whilst there is a lot of content, the game world feels somewhat hollow now.
The rerelease is essentially a few ergonomic changes otherwise they could have simply recompiled the binaries and call it a day.

The servers are a joke (possibly orchestrated for publicity)

It had enough people to make it action-packed all the time, but not so many that you'd have to wait 30 fuckin minutes to kill a single monster for a quest. Didn't have to pay $15 a month.
