I've already written an arbitrage script for Binance and want to start developing a multi-exchange arbitrage bot today. I'm only learning more about blockchains and transaction times/acceleration.

I want to hold more crypto in general but especially bitcoin and I think the best way to go about it is creating these things that can run while I make some more money doing gigs I find on forums and fully articulate algo ideas I've been playing with. I've also been reading /biz for alt coin suggestions.

Do you have any strategies I can employ programmatically? Should I be doing arbitrage?

I should also mention that trading bots (which I've come to know are more maintenance demanding than presumed) are just part of what I'm trying to invest myself in. If you want to network, I'll give you my discord.

Can you share your arbitrage script ? What's the point of asking for help if you don't do the first step...

No. If it makes money, I want to run it. If it doesn't, I don't want to promote it.

I'd be happy to brainstorm and help develop a script with another programmer.

Noticed that BTC/USD on Kraken are slower than Okex and Huobi, meaning that if the price drops 10$ on the two exchanges (they are more or less in sync), it will take a couple of seconds before the price drops on Kraken.
You could create a trading bot that use the average price movement of faster/dominant exchanges and issue others of slower exchanges.

Does it actually work and make profits? Is it doing the 3+ pair trades to get the profit? Has it ever got stuck and couldnt complete the last leg of the arbitrage?

How the hell are you doing arbitrage just on Binance? The api only updates the ask and bid once per second and you must have real time bid/ask to do any 3 way arbitrage. The last price which is updated in real time is worthless for this. Also, you need real time order book data which, again, Binance does not provide in real time. Lastly, you need a Fill or Kill order type and last I checked, Binance does not provide this. If you can answer this, I will give you some tips.
>t. anon who does profitable 3 way arb on other exchanges. Among other botty things.

Another idea for a trading bot, which you might mean with arbitrage trading, is there is a price difference of more than +10-20$ between two exchanges, open a buy position on the one with the lowest price and a short position on the one with the highest price.
Eventually the price will level out.
I figure that the 10-20 gap is an adjustable minimum gap, because of fees, rapid price fluctuation so you don't get to buy/short the price it calculated it for.

(the exchange has to be of a certain volume).

I have had to finish a triangle manually. I don't run it any more because of the hassle. I was using querying the ticker book and looking for opportunities, then confirming with bid and ask prices right before executing the trades. It was only primarily based off of market price to save time, the trades didn't go through unless the bids and asks complimented it.

That's an interesting angle to think about. Thanks.

Interesting and similar to this suggestion: >>15328438

I'll do some research.

Also if you want to discuss this further, my discord is b0untyhunt3r#1847.

I figure I should leave it here before this gets archived. Anyone else is welcome.

i wrote arbitrage bots. My experience: I was doing millisecond trades and yet losing 20% of the trades because someone was faster. Thus making it a loss.

Another loss was i had to hold shitcoins for the bot to work which dropped 40% in value.

I was thinking about other bots being quicker. Do you have any tips for risk management when it comes to these types of plays?

you'll have to do the math. But you're fighting against a bot army. So you'll lose a % of trades. The question is how much? And the gains are pretty shitty too. Not worth it imo

Good point. I guess I'll try to develop a criteria for opportunities. Then see how many present themselves and if it's worth it.

I saw a guy looking to raise some capital for arbitrage he and his group are doing. Might be a scam but he seems reputable.

Do you do anything else trading bot related that you don't mind sharing? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Literally just go the S&P100 route, but speed it up. Take the best performing 100 assets, hold them, change every week to always hold the top 100 best performing assets and that's it.

I'm definitely going to get into holding like you say. At the moment, I don't have enough funds.

arbing is too saturated. dapp bots in 2018 were where the money was at. not sure about right now; hopefully more volume comes back to dapps.

>> No.15331627

>>15331107
I'll have to keep an eye on trends in dapps and figure out how they work. They seem enticing enough to grab the average consumer's attention.

Thanks. A lot of people here seem to share the same sentiment for arbitrage.
