Trump want to reindustrialize America and bring back all those blue collar jobs. The quickest way to do so is to lower the labor cost of America down to last century's level, or in other words down to China's level. Since you can't cut the wage of the people directly, the alternative is to lower the value of money that workers are being paid. Funny thing being he get half of the America's support to do so.

More or less. It's following a parabolic curve, and it appears to be close to reaching a global minimum. Though I think it would not be imprudent to wait. Most of the upside will occur after the trend reverses. Maybe prior to September earnings and dividend ex date would be a good time to get in.

>>15325868
You may laugh, but some time ago I made a similar post about Barnes & Noble stock (BKS), lauding the cheapness and the high dividend payout. Guess what happened then? Shortly after that, a buyout was announced and the stock price shot up over $6. And TLRD has an even higher dividend yield than BKS!

Yes, people are not going to stop wearing clothinf anytime soon, and, NO, people are not going to only purchase clothes through Amazon. This is just one of those stocks that you look at and start getting warm fuzzy feelings. I feel a little bit of reservation due to the casualization of both business dress and church dress. The most significant bear thesis IMO is how they changed the Dilbert comic strip to have them all wearing polo shirts. That's the main thing preventing me from pulling the trigger right now, but I still think this is going to be big.

That sounds more reflective of poor planning on your part rather than any fault of brick-and-mortar shopping in general. Instead of driving around to go shopping during mid-day Saturday, go in earlier in the morning or whatever the off hours are in that area. I don't see how you could say that they don't have what you want. This is Men's Warehouse. You're not going to go to Men's Warehouse looking for a suit and turn up empty-handed. For other stores, you know many of them let you order online and pick up in store now? If that's not an option, you can call up the store and make a
employee check if they have what you want in stock for you. Have you ever been to Men's Warehouse in your life? How long were the lines? You're just spouting off nonsense without any idea what you're talking about.

The DF brands are regional. I don't think we have Dairy Pure here. We have PET. At any of the major grocers that have their own milk labels, the store-brand milk is consistently cheaper by as much as a 2:1 ratio. There's no reason to choose PET unless you live in the ghetto without a car and have to do all you're grocery shopping at the convenience store or something. This only applies to milk btw. Other products like ice cream are still competitively priced.

$92.1 MILLION of UNH just changed hands... is this unusual? Seems like a pretty enormous move someone’s making here. Someone’s eager to get rid of it, and someone’s eager to buy it...

It's just something to understand about price targets

Let's say that a firm like Schwab or Morningstar have maybe 60-80 people active in-house doing market research just for their price targets. The number might be a little lower than that. At the same time you have all kinds of other firms doing market research on just certain stocks or certain sectors, but Morningstar is supposed to cover EVERYTHING.
Their analysts can only work 40 hours a week, and they have a LOT of stocks to cover. Low market cap, there isn't that much information for. So the price targets for a lot of stocks are not something you want to stake your future on. They aren't meaningless, and they are based on some information and methodology, but these market analysts aren't gods. If they were really good they'd be working at DE Shaw or Renaissance; if they're working at Morningstar or Schwab or places like that it's probably because they DON'T know enough to beat the market. Most are just normal people who are making 90K-160K (my guess) a year plugging numbers into excel spreadsheets.
hope it makes sense.

Bulls need to take it to ATH soon.

Bears need to smash the June 3rd lows.

Both will be decided by a combination of macro reports, central bank decisions and trade war/geopolitical developments centering on China and the USA.

If Uncle Powell doesn't sound as dovish as the market wants him to do be at Jackson Hole, the market will sell off big time.

This could eventually be bullish though since Trump will cave to China.

100k isn't enough. I have it but I still worry about all the middle class stuff that you worry about.

I've considered setting up a trust near/upon my death for my wealth. Then it'd pay out a small portion of its gains (starting at 1% and scaling to 10%), focused largely on moderately growth. No payouts on red years, unless I decided to include something gay like bonds/fixed income.
The hard part is getting the wealth. Grandpa is still alive, but the family (he had seven kids) is fighting over the inheritance. It's rather depressing. I know I'll get most of my dad's wealth, if only because I've given my word to care for my mom.

I hope to start creating generational wealth for my family.

old age is a wealth destroyer

and it's a new phenomenon, a hundred years ago we didn't have the same kinds of elder care and health care options we have today, the costs were lower and mostly the family would take care of people.

these days you can have old people spending near to 6 figures every year for up to 20 years (ex. 75 to 95).
It can be a lot shorter than that, it can be cheaper than that, or it can be worse: what if the person needs extra care due to a medical condition or multiple medical conditions? what if the person needs care earlier than that because of health conditions?

even several million dollars of generational wealth can be completely gone to the health industry to keep an old person alive.
You really need to get to tens of millions of dollars wealth to be certain to pass wealth on. Only the truly rich (80million+ with nice income) can go through elder care with their generational wealth unscathed

everything is set up to fuck the middle class & upper middle class these days
if you're poor your care won't be great but someone else will pay for it, and you didn't have any generational wealth to pass on anyway

Tooth was to bad to save so had it taken out. During that they found a cavity. Told me if I'd waited 6 more months it would be too bad to save as well. The process to fix said cavity involved a root canel and filling.

So I've been lucky. 36 years old. Six months of not doing anything and I'd be out 2 teeth and not 1.

All we need is for Biden to pull a Howard Deen, or pivot towards Medicare for all, and boom, healthcare cheapies. Greatest American company Merck so cheap you’ll feel guilty.

hey sometimes it's like, more money more problems
like even if you get the 100K you aren't free, you still have to follow all the rules and pay all the taxes and fill out all the forms until you die

If you want to make enough money that you can live out in the middle of nowhere you need millions, enough to hire a personal secretary to take care of all your shit

for anything like true freedom we have to change the system
