I'm surprised you failed to notice removing RAM or the HDD from the said Acer doesn't void the warranty as they're located under the same flap. Or any display errors on the laptop can be solved by hooking up the video out port on the laptop.
Anyone with even little knowledge wouldn't waste 20+ hours gutmann wiping a computer when DBAN is widely available and take days to do, especially on a pre 2010 device
