>27, working 4 years
>80k salary as an IT Business analyst (high CoL area)
>BA degree
>40k in student loan debt, level repayment

my job is slow, but really chill and i work from home and have shit loads of free time
I'm bored and i feel like i need to be moving faster with my time and money. should i get my masters? I don't want anymore student loan debt. side business? I can't actually program that well so no startups for me.

should i bother even chasing riches? i'm comfy as fuck but my net worth is garbage and i don't have any real assets yet.

Get certified (CSM/PMI/etc.) and learn how to write properly. Start off as a technical writer in anything software related and work your way up if you don't already have an IT/CS-related degree

get comfy with the idea of working in heavy corporate types of environments with middle aged women

No. Coding takes around 1000 hours, around the time other skills take as well, to be useful and get a job, around 10000 you're an expert. This assuming you're regularly trying to learn something and coding. So about 1-2 years of doing projects and reading about it. If you do that you're wasting 50k since you can just show what you did over time to an employer. Of course it can be harder without a degree but if you have at least a significant project it's doable and you don't throw away 50k + interest + money you lose not investing

I went from a $140K plus bonuses job as tech lead to $100K per year as an IT analyst sitting home 3-5 days a week shitposting. Comfy as fuck. I love that you actually don't have to work. Don't have to get in fucking meetings. Don't have to fucking get on calls. Don't have to socialize and eat lunch with people I don't want to be around.

Be comfy. Only caveat is spend a few hours per week learning new skills and reading up so if you lose your job you have skills. It's easier to learn shit when you get paid to do nothing. You can 100% teach your self to code better than any course or at any university.

Yeah I have a degree. It's less and less relevant now though. A lot of fortune 500s don't even require a degree. Worked at a major bank, they don't require a degree.

If i had to bet guessing from these threads, 1/2 of all people on /biz have a CS degree working as a coder/programmer making atleast $65k as a starting job, all at the tender age of 25. The amount of larping here is unreal.

>our monthly earnings with all expenses deducted?
i take home a little over 4k/mo after base things like tax, 401k, health insurance etc. are covered.

Rent is 1400$/mo (this is the cheaper side of options where I live. high CoL area. median income here is 90k). Some of that then goes to savings, groceries, gym, loan payments, paying off my credit card statements

> burnt out, responsibility

> responsible for the entire team, when any and everything goes wrong

> deployments in big banks, financial service companies start on Friday night and end on Sunday morning. For real

> hiring, people leaving, salaries. incompetent people

> phone calls, meetings, socializing, commuting, kissing ass to move up the ladder, all that bullshit

> realized that PMs, BAs, and other Analysts or QA roles basically did nothing and earned a bit less. Every time I'd visit an Business Analyst's or PMs cube she'd be shopping for shoes or handbags. Bitches basically came to work to socialize and shop online while I was stressing myself out. And I absolutely hated dealing with people

The downside is I've seen people that reported to me move to SVP roles over the years and make a ton. But overall, I am much more comfortable and happier day to day. Crypto can provide some boost to your portfolio. I used it very conservatively like 5-10% and selling off during 2017 otherwise I'd be much better off. Now that my house is paid off and I have only $9K in student debt, I am going to pile more in crypto.
