In general, ethereum has no competition because of its distribution. Years of mining, price going up and down made eth widely distributed and the distribution is continuing.
Pure PoS freezes the distribution. There's no forced dumping on the market, people can hold for years.
Tezos, cardano etc. mostly retain the distribution of holders from the ico with no hope of ever changing that. You could owners of 90%+ of the supply in one room.
