Finance-retarded caveman here. I need advice and guidance for what to do with my meager spare funds.

I have 5k that I was going to put into a TFSA(canadafag). Of this, I was going to divide 70% into stocks and 30% into bonds. There's a service called questrade that I was going to use based on a friend's rec. I'm not looking for get-rich-quick, I just want stability for my investments, but with doomsayers now suggesting gold in case the dollar(or faggot loonie) loses value, I don't know what to think. Can anyone dumb down the current investing situation for me? I know 5k is probably a worthless amount and I'm ignorant, but I figured /biz/ would be more brutally up front. Thank you.

I feel like that ship sailed for me at this point

dont do the stock meme. especially now. its going downhill. either 1. HOLD CASH for the next 1-2 years. or 2. BUY BTC/LINK when/if it crashes while holding CASH.

Get some inverse ETFs for the crash and then when the time is right swap them for ETFs.

Okay, is it better to hold cash than precious metals?
>>15263822
What would be the best way to do this? Any to look for?

Bitcoin is under 500k, it hasn't sailed yet, kiddo.

Google "inverse s&p ETFs canada". 6oi can buy american inverse ETF too but you'll lose 1% by converting currency

Would dedicating $500 be worth anything via BTC in coinbase?

So for inverse ETFs, I'm going for the targets doing badly in the market? Like all the down trends?

>>15264428
Not sure what you're asking. Inverse ETFs will do the opposite of whatever index they reference. If s&p goes down 2%, SH (for example) goes up 2%. Just buy shares of SH if you think markets are going down.

Yeah that was exactly what I was asking
