Will XRP, or any other alt for that matter ever recover?

I know crypto is fucking wild west and anything can happen, but in the history of mankind, has any asset, stock or commodity ever recovered from 90%+ drop in value?

Especially when one thinks that effectively nothing from the broad pallet of crypto projects has come to do, well, anything at all, besides being a money print for the devs, is there really any chance of things getting back to the EOY 2017 frenzy?

Are we still early adopters, or is it more likely we are the ones still dancing to the band on the deck of the Titanic, while all the lifeboats have already cast off?

Unfortunately anon, 2017 was basically the "dot com bubble" of the crypto world. 95% of companies did not survive, and most of the new age internet companies that survived were created after that bubble popped.
