Why don’t manufacturers do this to counter deflation

>manufacture 1-2 years worth of overproduction
>give workers year or two off
>work on a year off a year that way by the time the product needs replaced production will start again preventing a true oversupply

This is more of a philosophical question rather actually entirely financial

Consider the jobs lost by the creation of the smart phone. standalone GPS is rendered obsolete, and deflated to being worthless. I think most of the problems we have with jobs disappearing is more that they are being deflated into nothing
Back to phones, we’ve already seen a decline in interest in phones to the point no new innovations are being brought just iterations on batteries etc. they just use marketing and gimmicks to keep pushing sales, so imo it’s being deflated down as well
