Are precious metals a meme?

How do you trade in Gold and Silver? ETF? Certificates on file with your broker? Physical gold and silver?

I don't trade, I buy and hold physical.

To what end? To hold a bunch of precious metal in your house forever?
Not poo-pooing you, I'm genuinely curious and considering buying physical gold myself (don't know who's reputable or what to do with it in the long run.)

Once the gold standard comes back these prices will look like pocket change so there is no reason to sell anything at these levels. I'll hold for 5-10 years if needed. I use it as a store of wealth for now.

TFW bought an extra 2oz of gold in the last two weeks. Yep, I think I'm gonna make it.

I guess what I'm asking, is in 10 years or so, how do you sell it? I don't imagine you go down to a "we buy gold" pawnshop and offload it for whatever shit deal Rick is going to offer.
I'm on board for it, I'm just looking for where to actually buy physical gold and silver bullion.

you hold gold and silver as stores of wealth
then you can spend gold to barter for things in the event of a collapse/balkanization of the economy
>but why not just stock up on those things instead?
you stock up on both, and if you need to barter but the person you're trading with has no need of any supplies or materials you can offer, he'll likely accept gold, everyone wants gold

Why the hell would you believe any of these money grubbing reptilian bankers would allow for the gold standard to return?

They wouldn't "allow it," fagit, the point is to prepare for the shitstorm that comes when they lose their power.

Think of it as long term savings. You buy physical pms, stash them away somewhere and forget about them for 20 years. I wouldn’t recommend buying if you think you’ll need to sell them anytime soon.

When do you think that'll happen? And will it just be gold? Or silver too? Like our original history of the silver dollar?
