Not a bad idea if you're an artist, the game making part is pretty easy to learn with Game Maker or Unity. If you're a programmer instead of an artist then welcome to Hell because you'll need to create so many features most can't use and you also need to find a way to get good artwork.

you won't sell a single copy. I made a game, and everyone who's played it has said it's fucking fantastic, app in the app store, everything; fully featured, complete package

I can't even get people to play it for free, trying to advertise is hell. but I do have my small group of dedicated players and that's enough to fulfill my childhood dream of making a game... meanwhile I wage slave in hopes that crypto moons some day.
