Why do I keep buying alts?

I'll tell you why. I bought decred and nem all throughout 2016. I sold a lot throughout 2017, but I didn't start with much. Yes, I have a modest 4 bedroom house and no debt but this time I want to retire. I was a college student at the time and thought crypto was a novel idea. I got addicted to buying projects I found interesting instead of bitcoin. I believed so much I kept buying as they went down.

What is going to happen is: one day all alts will be up 100, 200%. You will think it's a sucker's rally but they keep going up and up and up. I lived it once and even though I could live comfy for a few years now, I am ready to retire. I am an engineer now and dump about $1000 a week into shitcoins that I believe in, because I lived it once. Alts are not dead, this just happens when btc recovers. It happened before, and even though things look bleak, it will happen again, and I will never have to work another day in my life.

Be smart, anons... look at what happened in 2016, it will happen again.

I have lost a lot of btc in this bear market (literally worth hundreds of thousands of dollars) but it is all play money for me. When alt season happens, it will occur so fast your head will spin. That's what happened to me with decred. I woke up one day and it was just like woosh and didn't stop.

Verge is an excellent example, even though I dont like the coin. Nothing for years then 26,000% increase in months. People who bought verge are still up over 200x now after this bear market. This is why I will hodl my shitcoins because when alts pump, it can happen in your sleep and all bear market losses can be wiped out in a day or two. This time I will be wiser and keep more in btc because I am not a very active trader but I think the next alt season will shake the earth.
