Is there any legitimate explanation for the stock market being explained in "points" on the news? Seems like a tactic to scare low-IQ boomers who don't understand that the headlines in a giant red box saying "LARGEST STOCK CRASH OF THE YEAR, MARKETS ARE SELLING OFF OVER 700 POINTS" means a measly 3% decrease?

they don't have any clue what moves markets... those tid bits on national news are completely unverified but fit inside the herd's brain better than saying "the market dropped 3% today because of a random walk."

this
the high volatile nature of cryptos fuck peoples minds over small increases of value in long term savings, for example if I had put my 5 grand into a savings account, I could have gotten 8% AT MAX yearly and it only changes between 2-6% normally, but with cryptos that can be done in 5 minutes

everybody is catching up to reality
Nobody there to buy cheap china shit
chinese have no relevant internal market
all investments made on credit over the last 30 years will not throw off enough profit to cover investment. enjoy your stagflation everyone.

what utopian country do you live in where you get 8% on a savings account!? I think in the US the average is literally like 0.05% yearly. and yes, crypto is retardedly volatile because it's a whale manipulated unregulated market, but most non-brainlets are either permabulls who believe it's tech of the future that will moon, which makes the volatility irrelevant in the short-term.

Indexes are calculated based on either being Price Weighted (like the Dow Jones) or Value Weighted (SP500 and Nasdaq). The results of the calculation are referred to as points, and there's a unit below a Point called a Tick.

CBNC and many other stock market news hubs are run by large institutional investors. Banks and large investment firms hate to see cryptocurrency grow in popularity where they don't have the control of the market. Banks can't ruin crypto traders like they can do to small forex traders and investment firms can't pump/ruin smaller companies where they have massive call/put options on. The news is there to serve someone else.

Yeah, it's fear mongering of course.

When the stock market goes down the propagandists are instructed to scream bloody murder to justify a rate cut or to put pressure on Donald Trump to stop the trade war.

Keep in mind that a 3% drop in American markets is literally billions (trillions?) being wiped out. Many times the market cap of bitcoin.
