>ring signatures, ring confidential transactions, and stealth addresses on the cryptonight protocol since 2014 with an anonymous creator
>the god protocol of fungible ancap money
>become worth billions of dollars
>actively patrols asic development in a centralized autistic manner as if it were a magic the gathering cube draft rather than a voluntary protocol

I do hope it all works out and I'm in no rush, but bros... tell me everything is going to be okay. It's one thing to address the need to prevent asic monopolies but monero is #1 on the theoretical shitlist and it SHOULD already be getting attacked if this isn't wildly understated. Do you think there aren't agencies that could procure a lot of new graphics cards in secret or make fpgas? would it have just been safer to let asics run their course? the way it is now with the mining being changed often in a centralized manner seems unsustainable but it's not something I hear talked about a lot and theres a lot of shit to keep up with so maybe I have it wrong? If it keeps going this way surely it must only be a matter of when this party is forced or compelled to act rather than a question of whether they could develop the capability if pic related is in any way accurate.

What's the scoop on Random X? Why are people suggesting that it might not work? Is Monero still trying to switch algos every 6 months or so to kill ASICs?

What's the scoop on Random X?

The scoop was just posted here 3 days ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/ckhuq9/randomx_audit_status_final/
Why are people suggesting that it might not work?

People who suggest that have no idea WTF they're talking about. The code clearly works and is of extremely high quality.
Is Monero still trying to switch algos every 6 months or so to kill ASICs?

No. The 6 month algo changes were always just intended to be short-term measures to buy time to develop a long term solution. Nobody wants to keep changing algos all the time, it is unsustainable.
