No one gives a single fuck. This is the worst price action ever, even for BTC. No news, no important developments, this is just tether doing tether shit.

REMEMBER THAT BINANCE IS THE BIGGEST TETHER BAGHOLDER AND THEY WILL END UP KILLING THE MARKET

Some guy entering a random number at the at the tether printer and hitting ok. They could print 1000 Trillion USDT in one setting if they wanted too.

The entire market is getting worthless by the minute.

You are a idiot. How many tether are there, like 10 billion tops? Even if the whole thing crashed right now, it would hardly affect BTC at all.

Tether volume is literally bigger than BTC.

>How many tether there are, like 10 billion tops?

How about infinite? Tether is being printed at will by bitfinex in conjunction with binance. Just a few weeks ago they printed like 5 billion "by mistake". This entire this is a fucking fraud.

Think of Tether like a digital US Dollar. It is a fiat currency with an unlimited supply, and can be printed in secret which means nobody knows how much is actually out there. The group that owns tether has a large amount of BTC and USD funds as collateral which keeps the price of tether at roughly 1 USD = 1 Tether.

How it's meant to work: People put money into tether from usd to trade for various crypto

How it actually works: the guys who run tether just keep "printing" more tether and buying up btc because they can

>> No.15115322

But isn't it backed by USD? As I understand they've even gone through audits, do you have any sources that show that A) they are printing more without any USD backing and B) they are doing so just to buy up tons of BTC with it? Where's the proof?

Even if that were all true, what would realistically happen if tether were to disappear overnight? Outside of a short panic cycle, it wouldn't affect the average person's perception of how much Bitcoin is worth. Maybe on some exchanges it would suddenly become harder or impossible to transact, but that's only until they switch to an alternative, like just USD trading pairs. Coinbase has all the major coins in USD trading pairs, so what's the problem
