A colleague I knew at one of the hedge funds in London said that one of their models uses sentiment analysis from reddit and 4chan. He has no idea how it works.

I tried to build my own specifically for /biz/ but the signal to noise ratio is absolutely fucked since people randomly make posts like "WTF WAS THAT?!", or other bait, false alert headlines that fuck up the model.
