I hope you're a shit bait because that's a shit argument which only demonstrates lack of comprehension. Sergey, much like Satoshi Nakamoto during his time, is a visionary but here's where the difference is: Sergey is not a cypherpunk, he's a businessman. Chainlink is being created specifically for institutions, enterprises, banks and individual companies.

There's gonna be a whole node operator market ran by individual companies, both larger and smaller. Reputation for these guys is a lot more than a track record, their income massively depends on it. They make more money by practicing honest business, it will be that lucrative. Chainlink will be a trustless network ran by trusted entities.

This sort of setup creates a conflict of interest on top of multiple other conflicts of interest, backed by privacy and security features. Of course you can rig it if you manage to collude with other node operators, but none of them will join you because it doesn't make sense for them.

The way you deploy this kind of setup is a big deal for the network and Sergey knows this. The team is currently establishing a core trust around the network in a safe manner, using whitelisted nodes. The network will mature before its even fully public and the new players will have to stick to the rules in order to succeed.
