They are building on it, as one of the only projects as far as I know. Basically using it to make near instant transactions through their multi currency wallet, their upcoming Lightning DEX, and other dApps in the future.
Lightning is great, because it fits SO WELL on an eco system of masternodes, and provides near 0 fees at the same time.

It's much much more than that. XSN is used as a fee for all the Daaps, the Dex is just ONE of them.
