you can delay it another day if you call in sick

If you stay awake the whole night then it will seem like you have more time to do whatever you want before monday morning gets here. Plus you'll have the added benefit of experiencing extreme sleep deprivation during that monday morning, so you won't really hate the monday as much as you normally do.

Honestly, I think everyone should force themselves to stay awake for at least 36 hours straight for no pressing reason at least once in their life, it gives you a new perspective on all sorts of things.

I stayed up 3 days once with no stimulants other than coffee. It was pretty strange. I don't remember what I was doing on the computer that whole time but it must have been pretty interesting

I've never stayed up that long, think the longest I've gone is about 40 hours.

unironically, yes, opiates.

I used to take morphine tea or a high dose of tianeptine sulfate right before bedtime when I wanted it to last as long as possible. They sedate you so you're basically knocked out, but they prevent you from really falling asleep so your perception of time stays elongated. Sort of like a comfy pause button on life.

Of course tomorrow eventually comes anyways and now you have to go to work AND you didn't get any real sleep AND you have an /opi/ hangover. So, you know. No free lunches.

This is very true, I hate to say it. The few times in my life where I felt really optimistic about life and changing my old habits and getting myself on the right track felt effortless, most of those times were when I was sleep deprived. There's a weird kind of spiritual euphoria/energy that possesses you even as your mind/body start to malfunction.

Never been able to figure out how to utilize the feeling to make lasting life changes, though. But e.g. I've always told myself I'm going to figure out how to draw and paint someday, well it's been two decades and I think about it every day but I almost never push myself to do even the most basic art practice. But when I'm sleep deprived I'll just sit down and start sketching shit. Total euphoric DGAF. When I wake up the next morning again all the usual inertia and self-censorship is back though, and I'm back at square 1. Frustrating.
