Alright bois, here's my situation. A few weeks back a family member dropped a bit of a bombshell on me. Apparently, 20 some odd years ago an annuity with a pretty substantial buy in was made in my name following a lawsuit, and it's been building interest during that time. At this point, I will be recieving 5,607 dollars a month, every month, until the day I die.

I'm currently renting an apartment, unemployed, uneducated, and have a bit over 50k in a low risk mutual fund.

What's the best course of action from here? I'm thinking about going back to school, getting a new job, and investing a good chunk of my monthly allotment, but not really sure what the best way to do so is.

If you want to go back to school, go back to school and study whatever you want, shit you could pretty easily afford a master's degree or phd with that money. An education has value in and of itself. Use college to raise your social and cultural status, to give you a geographical fixture point, you know. If you can do it, get the first two years of college out of the way at a community college. It's only worth it to get into a university freshman year to meet friends your own age who will stick by your side through college. I didn't, and I went to top-tier university. People on /biz/ are haunted by their lack of education so they defensively say college doesn't matter, but it shows you were able to get into the most competitive university, you beat out tens of thousands of other applicants. It fucking means a lot, and later on in life, you'll start seeing a connection between the people who didn't go to school (struggle with shitty jobs their entire lives), ones who went to whatever-ass schools (whatever-ass normie sheep), and the elites. It really does give you social access, that's all.

another piece of advice. do NOT get into an expensive hobby. this is the quickest way to meme your way into debt/ losing your free ride. I've known a few friends that got a settlement and pissed it all away on snowmobiles and houses they didn't use, now they are struggling to survive to next month. thats just one personal story compaired to all the ones you hear about rock stars and sports professionals. absolutely NEVER spend more then you get in a month.
