The best part is that people in 15 years will be buying these used like they do e46 328s and every old audi, except this time we will see midengine wannabe lambomobiles without bumpers, missing tailights, mismatched doors etc.
shit will be hilariously american,

Mate, my family has owned euro cars for about three decades now. They are great cars but once they hit a certain age they cost an amazing amount to keep on the road.

Call me a larper if you want but i dare you to go out and buy an early to mid 2000s german car and see exactly how much they cost to keep going.

Heres an annecdote for you. My old man drives an R50 touareg. It cost 25k aud to replace the turbos at 120k km.

My sisters boyfriends golf r recently set him back 3.5k. My sisters mini cost her almost ten grand in servicing over around 5 years of ownership.

Do you ever see old hooptie corvettes on the road now? Because I honestly don't and the corvette came out 66 years ago.
Also, look at the price of used corvettes
They hold their price pretty well
I just checked craigslist and decent looking 15 year old corvettes are going for $20k and those have that god awful plastic interior, shitty buttons, shitty everything on the interior

Wait for the ZO6, NEVER buy a first year Corvette.

I'm speaking from experience, I've owned 6 of these cars. Never ever buy the first year. You'll get fucked on quality and issues, and you'll get dealer mark up.

Paying dealer mark up is fucking retarded btw, and Chevy dealers are the dumbest mother fuckers.

There is still a brand new 2005 C6 Corvette for sale at a dealer in Virginia, because the dealer was asking for huge markup when they came out and was too fucking stubborn to drop the markup. 15 years later and he's already paid the floorplan so I don't think he gives a fuck.

>> No.14980830

Also, top tech tip... If you put down a deposit for a dealer order, be sure to place the order WITH dealer delivery. If you select dealer delivery they can't arbitrary sell your order to someone else.

I see this all the time, new hot car comes out. Dealer takes zero mark up based deposit for order, they then discover that they can make a lot more money by giving your order to someone else and charging them mark up.

You should want to do museum delivery anyways, it's amazing.

The amount of people who spend thousands extra just to "be seen in the new corvette before anyone else" is staggering

Wait a year and save thousands. I also don't believe that engine won't get boiling hot in there, GM being green on mid-engine layouts (inb4 racing or custom one-offs) and the result being premature wear

Watch this video. Now imagine that floor of your car is made out of 25000 of those. And in case of crash or just because of some error/accident they can all explode in chain reaction that will burn your car down instantly. Pray you're not inside when that happens. Electric cars are nice but I'd wait for some breakthrough in battery technology before getting one.
