Bigger how the duck do you think the federal reserve works? A federal reserve note is pretty much a physical receipt for a centralized shitcoin with 20th century technology. The only thing that gives a federal reserve note it’s value and legitimacy is the state.

As much as you can hold crypto by holding your phone. It’s representative of something, but it in and of itself has no value and nothing backing it but the government.

I’m not so delusional I think FIAT will disappear but governments will be forced to adopt crypto or risk major economic collapse and absolute dethronement. The risks of rejection are too high, though personally I’d love to see it happen. This is the natural evolution of a globally connected society. It can not be stopped.

Here we have the boomer unable to grasp future advancement
>Most people pay with debit cards and use phones to cash checks
>Can't fathom people paying with a card in the future tied with crypto or using a phone to pay with crypto.

Gold has some value but not even as much as other minerals. Plenty of things have value. Golds main value is in electrical components combined obviously with the difficulty to obtain it and its supposed scarcity. Anything with a usage which is not easy for anyone to get should have value, and scarcity only increases this.

Unironically this is why bitcoin has value. Its usage is making trading of value simple and fast. It is not easy for people to get (mining required), and it is scarce.

FIAT does not actually make trading value easy, though we’ve built entire industries and societies around making it easier to use it is not inherently doing this job. It is easy to get (print it) and it is not scarce (infinite). Which is why inflation is necessary and why economies are constantly on the verge of instability.

You hold a private key that isn't invalidated even if the internet shuts down or a global EMP destroys all unprotected storage. As long as the data exists somewhere you're the only one who can unlock it. You can hold it in the form of paper or you can hold it only in your brain.
