The oracle problem isn’t solved. Link is just a way to make API calls.

In the real world, API calls are free or affordable (a fraction of a penny). Link bagholders want API calls to cost $1000 EOY.

Case in point. Like Ethereum, Link is something that only works in the mind of a hyper-systemizing autist.

I love hyper-systemizing autists. Don't get me wrong. The world needs them, but they can't be the ones running the show. They miss the forest for the bark pattern on one side of a tree.

Does link work /needed for IoT dag protocols?

If there is value to find in a specific bark pattern then the forest becomes increasingly more important. Doesn't Chainlinks solution imply cost reduction by cutting out the middleman and decreasing corruption, without delving too much into technical and ideological intricacies of smart contracts & oracles? You said an API call shouldn't cost 1000$, but isn't the price variable anyway just like with ETH gas?
