#1 wagie here, I’ve given up on my hopes and dreams of financial freedom. Now I’m the best wagie I can be. The boss says jump, I say how high? Need me to stay late? Shit I’ll sleep at my desk, going on vacation? Hell I’ll cover your work for you. I’ve come to change my attitude from being a slave to being a yes man who will have good credit and get a nice loan for a house in the suburbs after I wage hard for another 10 years. There is no freedom only a fair wage for a fair days work.

Anon there are no careers besides maybe trades that let you work less than 40 hours a week and trades are usually so busy since no one but criminals and Mexicans want to do them anymore competent tradesman are usually swarmed and working 50-60 hour weeks.

I guess you are mostly right (excepting being a college professor or self employed and maybe a few others).
Still, if you trade your time for money, it's best to trade it for the most you can get. It adds up as the years pass.

The only exception I’ve seen are women who get some beta manager wrapped around their finger that will let them work like 3-4 days a week because she claims she is taking care of her kids.

Not necessarily true, a lawyer (depending on the field) with his own firm could work 20 hours a week and rake in a normal full time salary if they are willing to step down in working time and total payment. I've also met a few accountants with a few years experience that could did the same and still raked in an absurd amount of money per month (at least for my country, he made around 6000 euro per month)
It does usually require quite a few years of hard work beforehand though

Seems like a great plan. Software developers are hard to find, cost a lot, and there's almost always someone else willing to hire them because there's just not enough of them. What could go wrong?
