you seem to be a brainlet so let me cue you in:

you'll never outsmart the market consistently enough to make money, so park whatever you can spare in ETH and wait for adoption rather than speculation to drive price

I'm guessing you're a poorfag too so whatever measly money you can invest is nearly irrelevant; your only focus should be improving your career/income

>> No.14718827

somebody has to take a loss for somebody else to make a profit.

You just helped that to happen, and that is a good thing.

1) Everything is down today
2) Price is currently driven by speculation, not merit
3) 20% up or down has happened a gazillion times in crypto; you can't time it, stop pretending

save yourself the hairpulling and obsessing over price by buying into things that actually have merit and/or good future prospects (which is basically almost exclusively ETH)

so you're trying to time the market or are you saying don't invest at all?

either way retarded advice

>> No.14719143

>>14719121
It's not that hard to time the market. Stay parked in fiat 95% of the time. Wait for a substantial drop in a decent coin (BTC/ETH/LINK/BAT/etc), buy. Sell the 3-10% rebound. Repeat. Slow but steady.

>> No.14719180

>>14719143
even if you personally can do it consistently (which I doubt), it's retarded advice for 99% of the population

I wonder how many /biz/lets have ruined or severely set back their lives by actively trading crypto

>> No.14719208

>>14719180
So how do you propose to make money in the current market? Hodlers are down 10-20% today depending on where they park their coins.

>> No.14719301

>>14719208
>So how do you propose to make money in the current market?
I don't

I propose you invest because you believe something will be worth more over time, not because you believe you can make sense of the infinite factors that move crypto up or down in the short term

I've been a holder since 2017, I'm completely apathetic to the price swings at this point - I did get sucked in and tried to time the market a few times when we were dropping from 1400, but there is just no way to make sense of it - ended up roughly where I started but with a bunch of stressing about price on top

so you've seen first hand how unpredictable crypto is and should know by now that it's futile to make money chasing price movements

if you believe in crypto you buy ETH because it's likely going to be the first driver of real adoption - don't worry about the price in the short term

advice stands: buy ETH and forget (if you believe in crypto), then go build your income in the real world

this is objectively the best course of action

>> No.14719346

>>14719301
So you had many, many opportunities to sell during the 2017 bullrun and by back in 2018 for at least a little bit of benefit, yet you didn't, and that's your best advice. aight

>> No.14719444

>>14719419
why? BTC is a subset of ETH and it's already worse in the overlap

BTC has no scaling pipeline and smart contracts are a tagged on afterthought - it can't drive adoption because it can't facilitate adoption, so why would you buy the ponzi?

sigh actual fucking brainlet

if I follow your strategy:
1) I miss a ton of upside when price shoots over your "rebound target", this happened to 1400 and it can happen again, at which point I'll make more money than you
2) when price goes down from 1400, how do you know when the rebound has happened? do you buy back in at 1200? 800? 400? you can't fucking know

I bought at 30, it went to 1400, then it went to 270

I'm up 9x

If I tried to time the INSANELY UNPREDICTABLE movements up to 1400 and down again, I'd have 1) stressed myself the fuck out 2) paid a ton of exchange fees 3) probably been roughly where I started all else equal, without actively watching price

On the surface you're not wrong, ETH does seem a lot more useful, easier to use, etc. But it's not bitcoin. If a huge transaction pipeline was driving the price, the shitcoins like XRB and BSV would be number 1, but they aren't. Adoption means jack shit. Everyone is aware that actual adoption can't happen right now, we pump via speculators who give 2 shits about the actual tech. The tech is trash, nobody is adopting this shit at its current state. The only thing normies can adopt is the gambling side. It's an uncomfortable truth.

You should be 50% btc and then 25% in eth and link. That's the Chadfolio. Eth has gone over 2x since bottom and link did even better and both are holding their prices. Notice that? All the other alts are dumping still while eth and link hold their gains. So dont bother with any alt outside eth and link.
